Ok ...the NVC files are the extentions from the nerovision and you will need this program to see it ....so ...install the program in the new computer ...if there is already installed..just make the file association ..by right click ...than open ..and choose the program by browsing ......
or...right click on the file...than properties...than ...you will see the file type ...and under ..."opens with" ...in the right its an change button ...click on it and browse the programs for the Nerovision ...Choose it ...than click aply ..and ok ....
after that on double click the files will open with the right program ...
in short ...Nero will do it...and next time use windows movie maker...it will save in avi format ...and you can do anything you want even add music on it ,,and transitions...
after opening ..try to see if it has any more posibilities to save in another format ...or ...burn it on a disk ....or use a converter to like ( anyconverter ) to make it in another format that will be openable in a more common program ...

My file settings for saving books in Calibre changed when I purchased a new computer. Can you restore to the original settings?

the area that has everything as you had it is the hard drive of the computer
new computer , new hard drive , nothing saved unless you saved it all to an external hard drive
It is very possible that if the hard drive in the old computer was still operational you could remove it and set it up as an external hard drive to recover all of the files and folders but if it was the reason for the failure , then it is all lost

How do i view the backup from my previous computer ? i can see the photos from my iphone and one pdf file, the files from the computer are "protected"

Eortiz, did you try to read the files with a windows PC? Because when you connect the external drive to a PC you should be able to view the files and even be able to change the attributes like read only and hidden.

I am unable to save documents or create new files to my Western Digital My Passport Essential 1TB external hard drive. I receive error 65535. I have scanned both the PC and the Hard Drive for errors, but...

You have to be the computers administrator to change any values on any hard drive on your computer

click start control panel user accounts on the users tab click the name of the computer administrator you must have full control

click start click to open on my computer you should see your usb drive could be E: or something right click select properties there will be an array of options

select the sharing tab option then advanced sharing make sure you have a tick in the share this folder box

then click permissions make sure you have all 3 boxes ticked full control changes and read in windows 7

click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP

click start right click on my computer select open
Right click the icon of your usb drive (It should be E:/ or something)
Click Properties in the menu that comes up
Click the Sharing tab
Click permissions
And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.

Click start control panel scroll to folder options view place a tick in show hidden files folders and drives
this may vary depending on your operating system

Hope this helps.

My drive is full so it won't back up anymore!

Check the backup settings in the software that came with the device. You may be saving every backup instead of saving incrementally. An incremental backup will back up the files that have changed after doing one full backup.
You can also view the files on the drive through Windows Explorer.
The files should be dated. Delete the oldest files making sure that they seem to be the same size as the next oldest file.
If your computer is not faulty, and the files on the backup are not the only place that they are copied, you can start over with the backup drive, change the backup settings and create an incremental backup routine.
Depending on the size in Gigabytes of the backup drive, you are limited to the amount of data you can back up.
Example:
If you have a 500Gigabyte drive in your computer and the external backup drive is 250 Gigabytes,a full system backup will not fit.
Go to Windows Explorer, Click on My Computer and view the available space and total size for each drive.

Itunes messed up my external hardrive

I doubt that iTunes really moved/reorganized files on your computer.

iTunest may have created its own "Table Of Contents", presenting a "view" of all your files.

Open "My Computer" and open your external hard-drive.
The files should be in "your" order.

Open "My Documents". Open "My Music".
The files should be in "your" order.

If iTunes really did "reorganize" your files, there's no way to "go back", because "Windows System Restore" does not automatically created time-stamped backups of your 'My Documents' folder (nor of any external disk-drive -- where would it put that much data???).

My gsa-t20n will burn regular disks but will not burn DL disks all of a sudden...it burns most of the way then Nero says it cannot finalize disk. 22:48:29] NeroVision [22:48:29] NeroVision 10:36:44 PM ...

Hello there jpd0490.

Here's your geek-steer ...

There are principally two chief causes for this type (calibration) of burn failure:
  1. Inadequate quality media (disks). Verbatim is always a solid choice. However, more important than the brand-name disks are sold under, is the actual manufacturer. You can determine this with the aid of a little software tool called "DVD Identifier". There is an entire sub-culture devoted to tracking the best media available, right down to the manufacturing lot level.
  2. Drive failing. Since you say that it works consistently otherwise, this option is unlikely.
Good luck, and please do post back ...
