If the washer leaks all the time, check these:

  • Water inlet valve If water drips even when the washer is off, check the water inlet valve. It is located inside the washer at the back of the unit. The fill hoses are attached to it. Replace if deemed necessary.
  • Water fill hoses Check the water hoses from the household plumbing. Tighten it or replace it as necessary..
  • Main tub seal It is located between the transmission and the outer tub. To see the leak, fill the machine with water with small amount of detergent then open up the machine's main access panel.. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. The seal is difficult to replace and you probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician.
  • Pump You can spot the leak when the tub is full of water if the pump leaks. The pump has two or more rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. Replace it as necessary if it leaks.
  • Outer tub The outer tub can rust, split, or be punctured. You may have to replace the entire tub but it is not an economical repair to do. Consult a qualified technician for details.
If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these:

  1. The tube It is a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak.
  2. Inlet spout It is a plastic spout found on most washers near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free of its mounting, it can cause a leak.

Couple of things to check, one make sure the drain hose is properly attached and no clogging. and also make sure all gakets are in good shape. and not worn out.

SOURCE: Leaks water from the bottom

Your pump is probably leaking. It's mounted right at the front of the cabinet to the motor. It's held on by 2 clips and 2 clamps, very easy job. Part number for the pump is 3363394.

SOURCE: My front loader is leaking water from the bottom

It leaksYour washer can develop several types of leaks. You can track down a leak based on when it occurs:

During fill only
During drain and spin only
All the time

During fill only
If the washer leaks only during the fill cycle, check these:

Air-gap device -The air gap is a small device found on most washers that prevents the wash water from being siphoned into the household water supply. It's located either mid-way along or at the end of the black rubber hose that comes from the water-inlet valve. Often it's made of translucent plastic. If one of the air-gap components deforms or cracks, you may need to replace it.

The tube -There's a rubber tube that runs between the water-inlet valve and either the air-gap or the inlet spout. If it cracks or breaks, it can cause a leak.

Inlet spout -Most washers have a plastic spout near the top of the main clothes tub that directs the water into the tub. If the spout cracks or breaks free of its mounting, it can cause a leak.

During drain and spin only
A washer that leaks only during the spin cycle often has a leak in the main drain hose. Inspect the entire hose and correct any problem you find. Alternatively, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. This may be most visible during large loads and high water levels. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.

All the time
If the washer leaks all the time, check these:

Hot and cold water fill hoses - Check the hot and cold water hoses from the household plumbing. If either hose is leaking, tighten it or replace it, as appropriate.

Main tub seal - The main tub seal is located between the transmission and the outer tub. It's the primary water seal in the outer tub for the transmission-shaft entry point. If this seal leaks, you can see the leak by opening up the machine's main access panel while the machine is full of water with a small amount of detergent in it. The leak appears at the underside of the outer tub, at or near the center. This seal is difficult to replace. You probably should call a qualified appliance repair technician.

Pump - If the pump leaks, you can probably spot the leak when the tub is full of water. The pump has two or more black rubber or plastic hoses attached to it and usually has a drive belt that spins the pump. If the pump is leaking, you need to replace it.

Outer tub - Over time, the steel or plastic outer tubs can rust, split, or be punctured. If this happens, you may have to replace the entire outer tub--but that may not be an economical repair to make. Consult a qualified appliance repair technician for further details.

SOURCE: Kenmore 70 Series leaking water from bottom

I used to work for Sears as a home repair technician and washers and dryers were my specialty. Most likely the problem is with your water pump. I ran across this issue many times and what happens is people leave things in their pockets and it destroys the pump. A hair pin or coins, I have even seen socks and under ware get stuck in them causing leaks. What you want to do is tip the machine back and look at the pump. It is located right at the front of the washer with two hoses connected to it. You will want a pair of hose clamps though if you don't want water all over your floor. Disconnect the pump and look inside it for anything causing the motor inside to not work, this will cause slow draining and even leaking. If it looks clear then look for any cracks in the pump. If there is a crack then it needs to be replaced. Just call your local appliance repair place and tell them what you need. Pumps run around 30 bucks or less on average for Kenmore's. If everything looks good on the pump check the hoses that run from the pump and make sure there are no cracks or holes in the hoses. If they look good then the only thing left is the tub and the overflow tube. Chances are though that your pump is what the problem is and it is an easy fix. Good luck.

Water leaks (spewing) from sides of bottom of machine when it's filling up

The normal cause of leaking while it is filling is a leaking Inlet hose. Try pulling the washing machine away from the wall and watch the hoses as the machine fills. If it is leaking you can see which hose is leaking. You may either need new tighner clips or to replace the hoses depending on how bad they are leaking. Another possibility is the water pump inside the washing machine could be broken and spewing out water.

Washing machine top load leaking water bottom model # LXR7244JQ1

The pump is near the front, bottom of the machine. You need to unplug and unhook it from the water supply. Then get a wet and dry vacuum and remove all the water from the machine by using the vacuum on the drain hose. Then you can lay the machine down to get to the bottom of it and you can replace the pump. http://www.partselect.com/ModelSections.aspx?ModelID=709279&ModelNum=LXR7244JQ1&mfgModelNum=&ManufactureID=3&Selected=TVCOCCCE&Position=6&mfg=Whirlpool&Type=Washer&Mark=4

Water coming out of the bottom of the machine

Sometimes, what may seem like a washing machine leaking from bottom locations is actually one that leaks slowly from other spots. Slow leaks can accumulate beneath your washing machine making it seem like you have a bottom leak. For more help identifying the exact point of the leak, see Washing machine leaking.

Bottom leaks may be better identified using a newspaper. Just dry the floor and lay the newspaper beneath the washing machine before you test for leaks. Darkened sections map out your water leak. This method is not always foolproof, however. The best diagnosis will come from a qualified service professional inspecting your machine.

If your washing machine is leaking from bottom in the rear, you may need a replacement pump and professional installation. The leak could also be caused by a faulty air dome seal or a hole in the tub. For more troubleshooting steps to tackle that leak, see Washing machine leaking from bottom. I hope that helps!
