Be sure that your Internet connection is running smoothly and the green lights are all up. If you have a Nintendo Wi-Fi connector, you need to have the software installed and your computer connected to the Internet.

Turn on your Wii.

Select Wii Options, which is located on the bottom left of the screen. This is the button with the Wii logo.

Select Wii Settings.

. Click forward to the second menu screen using the blue arrow to the right.

The unit can connect to the Internet by utilizing its 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, which is built in, for wireless connections or via a USB-to-Ethernet adaptor for DSL connections.
For your wireless connection or Wi-Fi, the 802.11b Wi-Fi has a data rate of 11 Mbits per second and has an indoor range of 30m or approximately 98 ft. The 802.11g has the same indoor range, however the data rate is at 54 Mbits per second. If you have an existing wireless connection or are in a Wi-Fi hotspot, the unit will connect to your wireless connection automatically out of the box. If you do not have a wireless network, however, you will need to have your wireless network subscription done or set-up first. Once you have wireless Internet access, you then search for your access point, put in your security settings and you’re good to go. It would also be advisable to have a wireless router for this so that you won’t have to shuttle the connection between your PC and your Wii. cant connect wii to internet - wi-fi-usb-connector.thumbnail.jpgAnother option would be to connect your Wii via the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector. This accessory allows Nintendo Wii users who do not have an existing Wi-Fi connection or a compatible Wi-Fi network to create one through their broadband or DSL connected computer. This is inserted into your existing computer’s USB port and the Wi-Fi USB Connector acts as a wireless access point for the Wii. This allows the user access to the internet and to play Wi-Fi Connection games from Nintendo Online.
For your DSL connection, however, you will need to have quite a few things. You can use a WII LAN adapter to connect your Wii to your DSL modem. You can also use a router so that you can use your PC and your Wii at the same time. With the LAN Adapter though, to use or plug in the Wii, you must disconnect your PC. This can be quite tedious since you will have to plug in and out your PC and your Wii every time you need to use one or the other. A LAN Adapter is fairly cheap, but if you get a router, your PC and your Wii can go online at the same time, saving you the hassle of connecting one or the other when you need them. You can then hook up the existing ethernet cords to the back of the router and connect it to the Wii via a USB 2.0 cord.

i hope this helps

  • 1Before you connect Nintendo Wii to wireless Internet, set up your Wii console according to the manufacturer's directions.
  • 2Turn on the Nintendo Wii and wait for the main menu to appear.
  • 3Using the Wii remote, point and click on the small Wii button in the bottom left corner.
  • 4Select Wii settings.
  • 5In the bottom right corner click the black square with the number 2 in it or use the right directional arrow to go to the next page. When you come to "Internet" click it.
  • 6To connect Wii to the Internet select "Connection Settings."
  • 7On the next screen select the first connection that says "none."
  • 8On the following page, when given the option for wired connection or wireless Internet, select "wireless."
  • 9Now it's time for your Wii to search for a wireless connection. To do this choose "search for an access point."
  • 10Press "okay" and find the name of your wireless Internet. If it's not on the first page, arrow down until you find it. If you need a password to access the Internet, you will be asked to enter it. Click okay.
  • 11Click save and okay so the Wii remembers the wireless Internet connection options for the future.
  • 12Finalize the Wii Internet connection process by testing the wireless connection.
  • 13When Wii's wireless Internet test finishes successfully, you're ready to play Wii online.

I took my wii to my sons house cant get internet service on my

First you need to have a wireless internet connection,
next you need to turn on your wii and go to wii system settings
    then scroll over to internet
next go to connection settings and choose connection 1 2 or 3
choose wireless connection, then choose search for an access point
then it will give you a list of connections choose the one thats yours
and if you put in a passcode with your wireless router you will need to input that
after all of that it will start a connection test and if you did it correctly it should say... The connection test was successful. Perform a wii system update now?
Congrats wii your new wii Wi-Finess

I cant get on to the internet

o.k I to at first did not know how to get on the internet but it is not too hard.

first there is only two ways to get on the internet using the Nintendo Wii.

    (1) you can easily connect to internet if you have a wireless connection in your home.

    (2) you must purchase a USB Ethernet adapter. this adapter plugs into the USB port on the back of the Wii. You then must have a router with a port available. Run the Ethernet cable from the Wii connector to your available port on your router.

For either connection you then go into your Wii options ang continue into settings on your Wii. make sure you then chose the arrow to go to the next page. Click internet, connection settings, click connection 1 to set up. chose wired or wireless connection, It will then initiate a test and if all is good you will now have internet connection.

if you still have problems visit the wii website

    here is a demo :

    or heres the link:http://us.wii.com/connect/

    this should help you!
