My PVR has retuned (DSO)to the wrong transmitter. I receive signals from the Winter Hill transmitter and live in SW Cumbria. My Humax 9200T has retuned ok but my older 8000T has retuned to a transmitter in Wales. Manual tune using settings for channel and frequency obtained from the 9200T has made no difference. It seems to be locked on to Wales. Do you have any suggestions on retuning to my chosen regional transmitter? Thank you, Glynn Cawthorne

Not a complete solution but after much fruitless fiddling through the menu I eventually found that the programmes were actually there but under different channel numbers.
I searched a long way down the LIST of channels (on remote) The BBC1 channel I want is now 800 BBC. Selecting 1 on the remote still brings up BBC Wales.
This applies to my Humax 8000T PVR - I can't comment on other makes of Freeview box.

How do I get my channels ITV 3, 4 5 + 6 back on my PVR Humax 9300T

You are going to need to have your aerial adjusted, it's getting conflicting signals. I have a Humax in London, not until recently was this sorted out by repositioning the aerial to the strongest signal.

Retuned my humax box and my west channels are now wales how can i change them back

You will need to manually tune to your preferred transmitter. The Humax will tune to the first decent signals it finds, so if signals from the Welsh transmitter are good and found before the transmitter you want, it will use them.

Or, you may be able to unlpug the aerial, start the auto retune, then replace the aerial after about 25% of the scan completes. You may need to adjust the % before replacing the aerial to ensure that only (and all) wanted channels are received.

Humax PVR 9200T nolonger responding to controls on machine or remote.

1. Power off at the rear
2. Disconnect Aerial
3. Switch ON
4. If the unit can then be switched on carry out a Default setting
5. When the unit restarts insert the aerial cable so there is signal when the auto search appears.

Also, believe it or not, check your batteries in the remote control (seriously).

Hi retuned my humax pvr9300t and it has retuned but bbc1 and 2 have come up as wales when should of retuned to winter hill as i'm in the granada area my postcode is pr253ss please advise what to do

sounds like you are now picking up 2 transmitters, 1 Winter Hill, 1 welsh- Moel y parc. Due to the increased strength of the new Moel y parc signal
see http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/postcodechecker/main/trade/pr25+3ss/1/0

You can see its the channel 46 in orange thats your problem
Do the same retune but unplug the aerial until it gets past 46 so that it only finds the channels 56 and above that are from Winter Hill.
Bad news is that for you it gets worse when the extra channels come on next month. Looking at the aerial and maybe playing with attenuators might filter out the Welsh one

Since retuning I have lost BBC 1,2,3,4 & Ceebeebees. I receive my transmission from Winter Hill, and have a Digifusion FRT 101 set top box connected to an Alba CTV3485SIL TV. I also use a Humax...

sounds like you need to rescan for channels, Should be in settings menu then maybe channels, Normally autoscan or channel update, Also make sure your airiel is good.

The humax keeps on messaging that the antane cable is short circuited. is this an internal problem or a problem with the aerial itsefl

The Humax PVR-150T will definitely have problems using an indoor set top aerial; this is true of almost all Freeview receivers. Freeview signals are typically hundreds of times weaker than terrestrial transmissions and if you've managed with a set top aerial so far it's been working more by luck than design. I find that most set top aerials are so badly made that they're often faulty when new, but as most tend to flogged cheaply at markets and car boot sales the supply chain has no incentive to improve the product.

There has recently been a national Freeview retune, to complete this correctly your box needs the kind of solid and reliable signal which you cannot get with a set top aerial. Some receivers had compatibility issues with the retune and in many cases manufacturers broadcast OAD's (Over Air Downloads) to update the firmware in the boxes to be compatible. OAD's almost never successfully install via set top aerials.

There is an official list of Freeview devices which are known to have problems with the retune; unfortunately it has not proven to be a comprehensive list. The Humax MG-TU1 is one of those which have had problems and from memory it's closely related to your Humax PVR. The official advice is that you contact Humax directly on 0870 247 8800, but they'll probably instruct you to test your box using the aerial system it's designed to use before they'll be interested in offering further assistance.

It Was Solved by removeing the unit from its present site and retuned unit to winter hill in a good signal area, when unit was returned to original site it was retuned again. and operated ok. as to what was the course i have not a clue, can only think that due to thie site being a fringe signal area may be the transmitter was on reduced power or something?
