Connect the GPS unit to the PC using the USB2 connection.
You will be given the possibility to restore the unit´s files. This takes a while, but it solved the problem for me.
I have searched a while on this problem too. You can reset your TomTom One N14644 by holding the power button for at least 15 seconds. It will reboot automatically.

Looks to me like there is no reset hole on the N14644 or I would have pushed already. Seems a bit odd to me that the answer to turning on the tomtom is to download to it. Correct me if I am wrong but don't you need to turn it on BEFORE you connect? DUH. What is the answer to this question? Green light is on and tomtom won't start?

on you main menu go to the wrench picture, that is change preferences. Then touch the arrow, above done on the screen 3 times til you reach the screen that has "3 flags flying. that is the icon to change language. touch that, choose english us and you're done.

There are free downloads / updates of tomtom firmware from the tomtom home site but as far as I know there are no free updates for maps. The firmware updates can be performed using tomtom home software that came with your tomtom or by going to http://www.tomtom.com/plus/service.php?ID=17
You will need to connect your tomtom to your PC via USB and have the SD card in as the update will perform updating of certain files on the card.
The update will allow better function and enable faster fixes on satellite's and also iron out any reported bugs that have become known to tomtom so its well worth doing.

downlad the softwar after you register your product on the carer wep site you should find somthing like update maps or so, i haven't this problem but i think this would fix it, i have a defrent gps system.
