Sounds like the warning of low shutter speed end therefore the tanger to get "hanshake" blur captured. Use flash if possible or highter ISO setting or steady hands ;)
It probably shows that low shutter speeds are used because of low light = danger of blurred pics from handshake - use the flash if possible, choose highter ISO setting and/or just try to hold the camera steady.
With the camera ready to shoot in Auto mode - you will see a little lightening symbol in the top right hand corner of the screen. This indicates the flash is turned on.
On the left side of the circular dial at the back of the camera you will see a similar little lightening symbol indented into the dial. Simply press on this side of the dial to turn the flash on or off as you desire.
The symbol on the screen will go off when you push this to indicate flash is off and return if you press again to turn it on.
you have 2 buttons one pops out for adjustment the other is only a push button push the left hand one repeatedly till a red clock symbol shows at top of clock then turn right hand knob to set time wait a few seconds and clock will set itself.
take the batteries out of the camera and the memory card..verify that the memory cards are good by trying them in a printer or another cam.. other thing is you might not be in picture taking mode..you might be in the settings mode..check the user manual if you don't know if you are.
The red light is probably the focusing beam. I'd guess that your flash is turned off somewhere in your settings. Go through the menu and if you find that it is not turned on there might be a hardware problem. Also, if the flash is set to automatic, it will not work when it thinks there is enough light to take a good pic.
Press the FN button under the toggle on right side of LCD screen. You will see white balance on left. Toggle down to the "flash" symbol". Should work a treat now. If not using flash go to FN again and raise ISO.(Don"t forget to go to Auto white balance again!!)
