Phone wont hold a charg and wont turn on

Try holding down the power key for 30 seconds. You should see a white indicator light blink. If not then plug it into a charger that you know works. If your not using the original charger it may not be getting enough power. You may need to charge it for a couple of hours and then attempt to turn it on while on the charger by holding down the power button for atleast 30 secs or untill it turns on.

1.Check the device's battery level for at least two bars of strength.

4.Remove the battery.
5.Wait 10 seconds.
6.Press and hold the W key.
7.While pressing down the W key, re-insert the battery.

Theres a possibility that the IC on your phones motherboard was damaged. if you already tried known good battery and charger and still wont get any charge then your phone motherboard is alread damage and needs replacement or you can buy a standalone charger for your battery.

Since the battery and charger are new and yet it does not still hold charge.

Have put the battery in another similar phone and try to charge with your charger to see if it will hold charge? if you have.

It means the charging port of your phone is bad and you will need to replace it.

The charger is not charging the battery in anyway because the charging port is bad, so just change your charging port, your phone will now hold charge.

Ok, if while the charger is connected you see the charging bars blinking, then your problem relays on a bad battery. Good luck.

3 ways to solve it:

1.) Take out and put battery back in.

2.) Plug into a wall or car charger but not a PC USB charger. This does not work with PC USB connection for some reason.

3.) Hold red on/off button to force a reset.

4.) The big battery icon should appear on screen.

5.) Let charge until mostly or fully charged.

7.) Turn on phone. It should boot.

2 - Hard Reset

To perform the hard reset, hold down the center select button in the middle of the D-pad/joypad (the raised silver one.) Then, continuing to hold it for at least five seconds, press the power button to allow the device to power up. Continue to hold the select button until you get a screen which asks if you want to perform the master reset. Let go of the select button, and press the appropriate soft action key to respond yes.
REMEMBER! A hard reset erases ALL of your data!!! This is why the Backup is so important.

You could get Sprite Backup. In addition, install it to your Storage Card and save your backups there as well. That way you can restore on the road without a PC.

3 - Update your phone's firmware

Contact Motorola directly. They are very good about warranty and will most likely overnight you a replacement.
