Sony KP-43HT20 convergence problem

Most Sony Rear Projection TV have a small door under the screen with some manual controls. Push on spring loaded door to open. Magic Focus is near the bottom and labeled.

If Magic Focus does not restore for correct operation, check the Convergence Gallery to confirm if you have a convergence fault that needs repair. #8 is the Sony menu.

The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.Tv have colors lines R,G,B mis alignments,have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike?The tv convergene board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors are dead too.These parts on the tv convergence board,must be replaced to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

Easy is not a good description... due to the cabinet size of this model, there is not much room to work. You will need to disconnect a lot and unfasten a lot of wires so that you can pull the chassis out of the lower cabinet. Then you will need to remove the D board screws and the Convergence amplifier screws (the amp will be right in your face, you can;t miss them... 2 large heat sinks right in a row. After you do that, you will probably need to change 1 of the 2 fuse links on the G board (the board the power cord plugs into). These are the supply Vcc for the convergence amps. They are 5A fuse links located on the upper/mid, right side on the PCB. Use caution, you need to discharge the circuit before you place the fuse in or you may pop the new (or remaining old) fuse. it's best to use a 100 ohm resistor to bleed the circuit on the input side of the fuse. You can do this by touching a legs of the resistor to the fuses legs. To be sure, just do it on both sides of the fuses. (resistor touch to fuse 1, side 1... and also to fuse 2, side 1. Repeat on other side of fuses.) Bleed for at least 5 seconds. After that, change the fuse(s), put it back together, power it up... press the Flash Focus button on the front of the TV. It you need to do further convergence, you can find information all over the place... or post it here.

Convergence issue. The sony type 1 convergence kit from www.tvrepairworld.com should repair that issue. The kit contains the parts and CD with instructions.

There should be a setting in your menu to adjust the convergence. if you have no luck correcting it this way you will need to have a repair center look at it.

if that doesn't work it will need new convergence IC's put in as well as a resistor or two

Picture won't merge? It sounds like your TV has had a failure in the CONVERGENCE CIRCUIT by replacing those IC's should correct your TV's problem.
