    Same problem with my bosch

Mine is also quite loud, and sounds like it is stopping and starting again during the washing cycle. I can hear the arms turning though; it just gets louder and softer.

It could be the impeller on the motor. The impeller fits over the shaft of the motor and might have split/broken up. That funny noise is probably the shaft spinning inside the damage impeller. Fortunately the impeler is fairly inexpensive and easy to replace. I believe there are one or two parts/covers to remove that are held in by a roughly half dozen torx screws.

I just had a very simialar problem with a noisy wash cycle. Fearing something had broken I had removed pieces to access the impeller to find everything was in one piece?! I kept looking inside until I found a small rusting pin (from some cheap utensil probably) near the drain hole. After the pin was removed and everything was put back together - everything worked fine. My guess is that the metal pin was being forced toward the food prop - couldn't pass through so the prop was being jammed instead. I ran several rinse cycles before reloading just in case.

Maytag dishwasher Model MDBH955AWW. Makes loud noise only during wash cycles. When I open door and tap on washer blade assembly under top rack the noise sometimes stops and dishwasher goes back to 'normal quite self'. May be just a coincidence, but this started right after maytag repairman replaced the heating element that was part of a 'recall'.

Maytag dishwasher model MDB7100AWQ
Starts, cleans dishes, however, with 40 minutes left of the 90 minute cycle it makes a loud type of grinding noise and starts to shut down. All moving parts have been taken apart, cleaned, inspected and seem fine. Motor turns by hand freely and without any binding or noise. Dishwasher was bought new in January 2002. Whats my problem.

My LG makes noise during operation.

The only way to access the motor either the drain motor or the wash motor is to pull the diswasher out, invert the whole thing, remove the access pannels. If you are going to remove the entire sump assembly, be real careful as you remove the screws, because the law of gravity promises to crash the sump down onto the "top" of the diswasher.
The Parts waranty is 24 months. But with the motor being repaired by an (factory authorized?) you may be able to get LG to cough one up.
Look carefully at the failed motor, write down the horse power and amps spec. Compare it to the new one. You should see a higher horsepower version. Good Luck.
Also, if you have _ever_ had problems with water leaking from the front door or the dishes dry poorly, get back to me with your model and serial number. Could have some good news for you.

Whirlpool Dishwasher, serial number 330251002448 wont stop beeping

The main controller appears to be very confused or failed.
To test, fully remove power from the diswasher for at least 90 seconds. Power back on and test. If the same behaviour is seen, the controller card has almost certainly failed. A service call is the next step to repair.
If you reply, please include the model number of your Whirlpool Dishwasher. Good Luck!
