I have not been very successful i rebuilding these dvd drives and to tell you the truth it is no longer financially feasable considering I can order a Samsung Multi-format cd/dvd drive for around 25 dollars on E-Bay. You can always just pull the tray out and push it in, but eventually down the line that will start causing problems. Depending on your system, replacing or upgrading the Optical drive is one of the easiest upgrades you can do.

I have replaced the drive belt on my delta 34-670 and the teeth on the rubber belt 100XL keeps stripping under the least amount of load. the drive belt keeps stripping on my delta 34-670

several possible reasons
build up of worn belt in the teeth of the gears
incorrect belt being used (wrong pitch belt being used -not genuine)
shafts being driven are not free to turn--seizing on the bearings, incorrect placement of rocker shafts /pushrods---valve springs bottoming out locking the shaft
incorrect tensioner actioner ( hydraulic tensioner not tensioning properly allowing the belt to flap in operation)
idler pulley problems ( bearings or misalignment of all pulleys

Can a different gear box fit in a rx4 Renault scenic..if so which.. Reverse gear only..loud knocking.why?

if it is knocking in reverse gear , that is an indication that a tooth of the reverse gear or reverse gear idler is badly chipped or broken
it will require a box strip down and gear and bearing replacement
best stick with the same gear box as there may be too many difficulties to fit a different box

Dvd tray on Dell Inspiron 530 hard drive not opening. The dvd in the tray is not loose because the program runs so it's not the dvd preventing the opening process. The "door" tries to open and when I...

from what it sounds like.... its a gear problem. see, inside your dvd drive, there are a set of gears, and a little "rubber band" that opens and closes the dvd drive. either A). a gear has stripped itself(or broken) or b.) that "rubber band" has broke, and has gotten itself stuck(probably in the gears). Good luck, and i hope that it wasn't an important disk.

THE DRIVE GEAR FOR THE PAPER TRAY IS BROKE

The gear drive is located in the paper tray lift motor assembly. The gears teeth strip away with wear and tear and can no longer lift the tray to feed paper. Replace this assembly and not just the gear.

Ice Maker not flipping

May very well be a stripped gear in the drive unit. Unplug ice maker and remove mounting screws. Out of the freezer remove front cover and inspect drive gears for damage. Replacement gears should be available through a dealer for you make and model number.
