Ice maker is splashing water all over back of freezer and it builds up til the fan starts to make noise if I turn it off and defrost the ice it will start up noise free til the ice builds again.

What is the model number of your unit? When the ice builds up, does the ice just build up where it is splashing or is the ice also building up behind the back wall of the freezer?

Thank you! Richard

Ice maker overfills and leaks into the ice bin.

I have had a similar problem several times. What I have found is that the ice tray coating has begun to flake off. Then, the ice sticks or partially dumps. Next more ice builds up and when the valve opens the water runs over the partially emptied tray and spills into the bin making "icebergs". The remedy is to replace the tray or if that is not possible, then, the whole icemaker. In fact, I have one down stairs to put in tomorrow. They don't seem to last more than about 4 years or so.

Water leak in freezer, build up of ice at the base

Remove the ice maker and fill it with water to see if it is leaking. Or check the pipe that fills the ice maker to see if it leaks or is not positioned correctly. Let me know what you find, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Ice maker making little ice/Leaking water on floor.

The ice trays bust be cleaned to prevent calcium build up. This will prevent the ice from froming in trays.
The overflow could be caused by the freezer not being level, or by the water fill timer not shutting of the incoming water. This will keep the water temp. too high to freeze the water. Also check the fill valve for sepage.

Ice maker problems

the heater on the ice maker has gone bad the easiest way to fix is to replace ice maker.the heater is on the bottom of the maker and heats tray up to harvest ice if it dont the ice will stick. But try taking maker out and cleaning it real good with a light spongee (Scrubee)
let it dry then spray some a light coat of pam (or similar) into ice bins and try that ahrd water will eat the coating off the bins

The tube freezes over where water comes in to fill the ice tray

You may have a related problem. If the freezer compartment isn't sealing off it will have excess moisture inside eventually making excess ice build up on the water inlet tube on the ice maker. Otherwise the water inlet valve is not closing completely and a little bit of water is building up and freezing.

If you pop the front cover off the ice maker you will find a screw with a plus and minus on it. Adjust it and that will cut the water fill down and should solve the overfill problem. If the ice is not dumping spray the tray with Pam and that should solve the dump problem.
