try swapping the screen with another one to just see if it is behaving the same, because some times the screen circuitry or the led screen could be damaged .

Some TVs has the manual control to menu down right, on frame. Did you check?
Else, only way is to get a GOOD universal remote. The one used for DirecTV has a control of SOURCE.

- Set the "Mode Switch" to TV.
- Press and hold the "Mute" button and the "Select" button until the visible LED blinks twice.
- Enter the code: 10178.

Make sure ur audio output is variale out,not Fix input out.Use a HDMI cable instead of RCA AV Cable.

I called Comcast and they gave me the code. Now it works perfectly.

2. Locate the 5-digit code for your TV (see pages 13-16).
3. Move the slide switch to TV.
4. Press and hold in the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same
time until the green light under the TV icon flashes twice
and then release both keys.
5. Using the number keys enter the 5-digit code for your
brand of TV. If performed correctly the green light
under TV will flash twice.
6. Aim the remote at your TV and press the power key
once. The DIRECTV Receiver should turn off. If it does
not turn off, repeat steps 3 and 4, trying each code for
your brand until you find the correct code.

If you have an emerson tv and direct tv the code you want to use is Akai 10812. I sat and went through every code for every tv and this one worked.
