What does 6A60 error message indicate and how do I resolve on my Canon MX700 all in one machine.

  • yancie Nov 02, 2009

Error 6A80 on Canon MX700 all in one. I have checked and removed all traces of paper jam. I have disconnected both the power and ethernet cables and waited over night to no avail. Is this error correctable in a home setting or is it ready for servicing? In my case technical servicing is 100 miles away.

  • yancie Nov 02, 2009

Where is the purge unit located? I can see no bits of paper anywhere either from the back of the machine nor from the front.

Canon MX700 Office All-In-One InkJet Printer : Error Code 6A80
There is an error showing "Error Code 6A80" and tells me to turn it off then on. It's still showing the error message?

Solution:
The error code means that a part of paper was ripped inside after a paper jam issue, or there is a foreign object stuck inside the printer.

If the error still shows after checking inside the unit for any obstruction or objects, the unit requires service.

Hope helped.

If the device is not functioning properly or to clear memory, reset it:

    1. On the operator panel, press and hold the button for one second. (The display will go blank.)
Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.

    2. Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the button again.

    3. Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.

    Good luck.

Also check the sheet feeder and purge unit; 6A80 error is an APP position error. It means that an error has occured
when the motor was running during the purging operation on start
    up, sometimes pieces of paper
    stuck in purge unit.

For lokk the purge unit, you need using flashlight in the right side on printer. Check the sheet feeder. If this not help your printer need service.

Usualy is the purge unit that clean up the print head, and it's located inside on the right side (printhead parking place).

Take a torch, lift up the scanner unit, with the unit ON, wait for the
print head to come in the middle, move it to left to make more room,
and check the right side, inside the unit.

How to resolved error code 9000 on canon mx700 printer

Here is the solution.
I am going to describe 4 buttons on your printer. Then, I will tell you what to do with these buttons to resolve this error.
1. Look for the Black & White selection button (large white button w/ black diamond on it).
2. Look for small pink button (bottom left corner of your printer control panel).
3. Look for the OK button (big button in middle).
4. Look for the On/Off button (top left).

OK - here we go. With the printer turned off, do this:
1. Using four fingers, one on each of the four buttons, press them all and hold them down for 10 seconds.
2. Release the On/Off button - but keep holding the other 3.
3. After a few more seconds the printer will turn on. When it does this, you can release the other three buttons.

So, to summarize, you press all 4 buttons for 10 seconds, release the power button and wait for the printer to turn on. After it is on, let go the other 3.

Your error message should go away. If you don't hold the buttons all down simultaneously, the printer could go into Fax mode; just turn it off and try again.

My printer canon mx700 has error 5200, what I have to do to fix it. Thanks.

This is a printhead overheat error but both the printhead and main logic board should be changed together and it would cost over 3/4 of the price of a new machine. So i would buy another machine rather than go for a repair.

Canon mx700 5100 error

The 5100 error usually indicates a problem with the printer knowing where the printhead carriage unit is.

Chances are that when you cleared the jam you dislodged, damaged or otherwise skewed the little calibration strip at the back of the printer.

This strip is a clear bit of plastic that has lots of thin black lines on it and it's used by the printer to sense where it is.

If it's not that then it's most likely something jamming the printhead carriage somehow... ink soaked bits of paper are a favourite that I used to miss a lot.

Hope that helps.

Error message

Suspect the printer's program is scrambled (didn't "boot" right)

Could there have been any power fluxuations/lightning? Even if it wasn't on, if it was plugged in the wall then there could have been damage. Are you using a universal power device or a current protector?

Unplug the unit from the wall, wait 20 to 30 seconds for the power capacitors to disipate their energy and then plug it back in. This will do a HARD reset.

Canon mx700 rejecting remanufactured ink cartridges

big issue with remanufacturing is how integritous is the fit of the cartridge, and also the interface. When these are re cut, so to speak, tolerances can stack up, and one thing about Canon, is they are a stickler for tolerances. You may have an issue with the cartridge fitting in the carriage, but not interfacing with the system. Happens sometimes..
