Printing problem When my fax is printing it has white lines across the page. I tried cleaning the nozzle several times and the problem is still there. Took cartridge out and cleaned it as well. Still the same thing. Help!

  • Cfreeze Jan 03, 2008

The problem is from ALL faxes received have the white lines. I don't have anyway to connect to my fax machine, it stands alone. I can only print in black.

Are the problem prints all from the same source? If so the problem could be on the transmission end. Can you connect to your fax and print to it from a local workstation? If so print several images with dark solid patterns and see if it is actually the printhead. Try printing in cyan, magenta, yellow, and black colors to to rule out each individual printhead.

X2250 won't print form pc

A technique to improve print quality is to try and clean the cartridge nozzles. You may clean the cartridge by following the steps given below:
1. Go to the "Lexmark solution center." This can be done by clicking on "Start," go to "Programs" and Lexmark printer group. Click on the "Lexmark Solution center." Next click on the "Maintenance" Tab.
2. Select "Clean and Fix Horizontal streaks." Click on "Print". This will produce a printed page.
The colors that you should see here are black, yellow, magenta (a reddish purple) and cyan (a dark sky blue). You should notice the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. These diagonal lines should be solid from left to right with no gaps.
If there are gaps in the lines or the print diminishes across the page, you should run the "Clean Print Nozzle" page a couple more times to try and clear it up. If you still have gaps at the top and bottom, you should "wick" the cartridges by following the steps given below:
1. Please open the "Solution center" again and go to the "Maintenance" Tab.
2. Select "Install color/black cartridge" and remove the cartridge or cartridges from the printer.
3. Get a damp paper towel.
4. Set the ink cartridge right side up on the damp paper towel so that the ink nozzles are against the towel and hold the cartridge in this position for about 15 seconds.
5. Now wipe the print head (on the bottom where the ink comes out) across in one direction only (left to right) until it looks clean.
6. Next dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure that the ink is flowing.
7. Snap the cartridges back into the printer.
8. On your computer, select "Old Cartridge install."
9. Repeat the "Clean Nozzle Page" one more time. If this fails to address the problem the entire procedure may need repeating.

Good Luck!!!!

Cleaning inkjet nozzles

Here's what I found here:

Cleaning the print cartridge nozzles
To improve print quality, you may need to clean the print cartridge nozzles.
Clean the nozzles when:
• Characters are not printing completely.
• White dashes appear in graphics or printed text.
• Print is smudged or too dark.
• Colors on print jobs are faded or they differ from the colors on the
screen.
• Vertical, straight lines are not smooth.

You can use the operator panel or the Lexmark X5100 Series Solution
Center to clean the nozzles.
Using the operator panel
1 Load paper in the All-In-One. For help, see page 16.
2 Press Options until Cartridges appears on the display.
3 Press the right arrow until Clean appears on the display.
4 Press Select.
A nozzle page prints forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the
clogged nozzles.
5 Print your document again to verify your print quality has improved.
6 To further improve print quality, try wiping the print cartridge nozzles
and contacts (see page 44), and then print your document again.
7 If print quality has not improved, try cleaning the print cartridge
nozzles up to two more times.
Using the Lexmark X5100 Series Solution Center
1 Load plain paper in the All-In-One. For help, see page 16.
2 Click Start Programs Lexmark X5100 Series Lexmark X5100
Series Solution Center.
3 Click the Maintenance tab.
4 From the Maintenance tab, click Clean to fix horizontal streaks.
5 Click Print.
A nozzle page prints forcing ink through the nozzles to clean the
clogged nozzles.
6 Print your document again to verify your print quality has improved.

7 To further improve print quality, try wiping the print cartridge nozzles
and contacts (see page 44), and then print your document again.
8 If print quality has not improved, try cleaning the print cartridge
nozzles up to two more times.
Wiping the print cartridge nozzles and contacts
If the print quality does not improve after cleaning the print cartridge
nozzles, dried ink may be on the nozzles or contacts. To wipe the print
cartridge nozzles and contacts:
1 Remove the print cartridges. For help, see page 38.
2 Dampen a clean, lint-free cloth with water.
3 Hold the cloth against the gold nozzle area for about three seconds.
Gently blot and wipe dry in one direction (this prevents the colors in
the color cartridge from mixing).
4 Hold a clean, damp section of cloth against the contacts for about
three seconds. Gently blot and wipe dry in one direction.

5 Let the nozzles and contacts dry completely.
6 Reinstall the print cartridges, and then print your document again.
7 If the print quality has not improved, try cleaning the print cartridge

Hi, my Epson 2100 is printing with faint lines at regular intervals right across the page. I've done various alignment tests and cleaning tests but can't seem to clear the lines. Any advice much...

Are your alignment tests show good results? If they are, try head cleaning 3 consecutive times without printing nozzle checks. After 3 head cleanings do the nozzle check. If problem persists try printing at BEST PHOTO or whatever is the slowest print setting for your printer. Good luck!

Printer keeps printing lines across the page of 1

Width of head sprayer (head output) of black is about 1". Check nozzle. It might be some point of head spayer distort. See check nozzle ouput. There are tranversal and vertical lines that represent same point of head sprayer. Is the output perfectly straight and no clog at all? Do head cleaning procedure.

All pictures appear pinkish

Either a problem with your ink, inkjet nozzles, or really bad filter on your photo program.... Try cleaning the nozzles first (print a test page and check the lines), then clean the heads a couple times, print test page again. (Control Panel, Printers/Faxes, Right Click on your printer, you'll have some option for cleaning/testing.)

White lines appearing on print

White Lines on the Printed Page ID:193 null.gif null.gif null.gif
Clean the print nozzles as follows:
  1. Go to Start, Programs, Lexmark, Lexmark Solution Center (or Lexmark Control Program) and select the Cartridges tab.
  2. Select Cartridge Nozzles (or Clean Print Nozzles).
  3. Check the diagonal lines above and below the solid horizontal lines. The diagonal lines should be continuously solid from left to right, with no gaps.
  4. If there are gaps at the top that diminish at the bottom, run the Clean Print Nozzle page a few more times. If the gaps are gone, the Clean Print Nozzle page has probably resolved the problem.
  5. If the gaps still exist, you should unblock ("wick") the cartridges. See How to Unblock/Wick the Cartridge Nozzles.
