I have a Gateway laptop (model W340UI), it was running with Windows Vista then I converted to Windows XP. I was able to get Ethernet working but I am having problem with audio (no audio from speakers or headphone). I tried all over the internet but I found nothing. I checked the Device Manager seeing: ''PCI Controller'' with yellow question mark...Please direct me where to get this PCI controller or audio Codec...for free.

Hi, here is a link to gateway's support website, just chose the model and os and it should direct u to the drivers. By the way, w340ui isnt the model, there is a list of models in that page where u can find urs, but im pretty sure there is another number, like mt3707, its always 2 letters and 4 numbers. look on ur laptop and see if u can find it.

Sony Vaio PCG-3F1M ethernet driver

Do you have windows XP or Vista? In Vista, First try uninstalling the Ethernet adapter and rebooting the machine. The Vista OS should ID the hardware and apply the generic driver, if not run Windows Updates, make sure your windows updates are up-to-date. You can find the XP and Vista drivers here, select your OS: http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=PCGTR3AP1&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=download#/downloadTab

Hi There,

Go to this thread. Alot of people worked hard to put it together. I believe the Audio Driver a ways down the page highlighted in red will work on your machine.

I spent a long time tracking this down for you so NO "unhelpful" marks, please.

I have a Gateway W340UI. powercord connection

When you wriggle the plug in the power socket on the laptop and the charge LED flashes and in the right position it charges, this indicates that the power socket is faulty or there is a dry solder joint on the motherboard where this power socket is attached.
To get at the power socket will require dismantling the laptop completely. A computer repair shop can do the repair, I suggest you get a quote first.
