Mine did the same thing. My player was primarily used in the garage and the cold weather may have caused my player to do the same thing. I just fixed my player. I removed the top cover and looked at the CD in the play position. In the upper right corner from the CD, you will see a spindle motor with a belt on it. Gently spin the motor back and forth carefully with your finger. I rotated it a half-spin in either direction, careful not to dislodge the belt. When I turned the player back on, the mechanism operated as it normally would and began playing the disc. I was able to eject and reinsert the magazine without any issues, solving the problem. Hopefully that will work for you.
Try changing the (only) belt the player has with a brand new one. Go to www.partstore.com. I believe it costs more than $10. Clean the pulleys with isoprophyll alcohol using a cotton swab after removing the old belt. After you remove the top cover, take a careful look how the belt is placed. Don't unscrew anything. The belt can be removed and replaced without removing any screw. A paper clip will help if you don't have the right belt removal & replacement tool. A commercial CD lens cleaner (I use Scotch brand) will greatly help. Just insert it in your magazine and run for a few seconds to a minute. This is not a sure fire solution but most of the problems in this model is attributed to an loose/overstretched old belt and a dirty laser lens. I hope this helps & good luck!
when its cycled thru them .,does it stop?does it show them on the screen with a lit circle?are they normal cds.can you select one cd to play?hold the eject button in for about 5 seconds, see if that resets it
Have you tried using the remote control if the button on the front of the unit won't work, and vice-versa? Try playing each disc, then go to the next so that you know all are loaded back in, then try again.
I reckon that they are not being put back correctly by the loading mechanism! This is a common problem with these units. It is highly unlikely that they are actually falling off the carousel.
Open the unit, and watch it as it loads and replaces the cd's from the carousel. You will probably find that instead of grabbing the disc off of the spindle and putting it back, it might be grabbing before the cd is even in its grip. This then simply bumps the cd out of the way, and it will fall inside of the unit.
The good news is that it can be fixed with a bit of very gentle bending and persuading. But be very carefull when doing this!
