Go back to the seller and ask them for the password. Or perhaps you can ask Epson to contact the registered owner, who undoubtedly has been missing it since it was stolen. Solution: Don't buy stolen goods at swap meets.
With System-Lock input window onscreen, press the "MENU", "ENTER", "ENTER", "MENU", "ENTER", "ENTER" and "MENU" keys, in this order,
on the remote controller.
If you do not know the password, then NEC can unlock the keypad after you show proof of ownership by providing the purchase receipt. Other than that it only be resolved by taking the projector to an authorized service repair center with the purchase receipt. This is the safety feature NEC employs to ensure they are providing service for the owner and to deter theft. It is a frustrating and expensive process but well worth knowing that if a projector is ever stolen, the projector basically is locked from use. Expect to pay over $200 to unlock the keypad if you take it to a repair center.
