My Whirlpool Calypso GVW9959K flashes ob, sl, and ld. now i figurd out that the drain pump was bad but should i buy a replacement or will it still flash ob and sl if i do?

It is Code SL which means Suds Lock. Either you have too much soap suds for it to drain properly or Your drain pump is clogged and not spinning properly. Try running it through a rinse and spin cycle and if you still get a code (SL or Ld) then you will probably need to replace your drain pump.

The OB indicates and out of balance condition has been detected by the motor control.
One thing about the OB error is that the lid must be opened to clear the error and allow the washer to advance to the next part of the cycle. If the lid is not opened to adjust the clothes then the OB error will happen again.

If the OB error was cleared and the OB occurs with an empty load then the motor control has failed.

The drain pump must work. The image below shows how to run a diagnostic test to check the drain pump. Follow the instructions in the image below and check the drain pump operation. If the pump runs and the water does not drain then the sump is clogged. If the pump hums but does not run then the pump needs to be replaced.

SL = Suds Lock

SL is a suds lock code it can be caused by the drain pump not draining the water, too much detergent, non HE detergent, or extra heavy loads, try running it empty, if code persits it is a computer/main controller/timer failure

Thanks for using FixYa. Error Ld means long drain and it flashes when the water level will not change even after the drain pump is on. To resolve this issue you’ll need to check the drain hose and the drain pump for any blockages. Also check if the pump is running fine and replace the part that has gone bad. ld is long drain check ur pump

could be or you may have a problem with the lid switch ( Ld )

Basically, it sounds like your drain pump is bad or clogged, and the extra water is throwing the spin cycle off balance

op is probably ob, off balance, the ld is long discharge, most likely the pump is bad or full of junk, the origional pumps were updated to a better design so as not to get stopped up.

Ld means long drain you probally have a bad water pump.Those models have a seperate motor for pump, the shaft on the motor is a star type and has probally stripped out the pump.Replace your water pump
