My vodafone dongle appears to have stopped working, the green or blue light comes on, the computer says the dongle is working, but I can't get on line! (I have great signal here)

Reboot the computer.
If that doesn't work. Turn the computer off. Remove the dongle. Turn on the computer. Insert the dongle. Wait until the computer finds and install it.

Check the manual and see the supporting operating system, may be your operaing system is not support you dongle, call to vodafone and get the latest driver for your windows.
I think that you will need to purchase another sim card for this dongle as you will not be able to pick up the south african vodafone internet from the UK
make sure the dongle is not locked to vodafone if you want to use another network

Try pluging the dongle, installing the software that will autorun (it's in the dongle memory) and let the software scan for the device. If it failed to regognize it call the vodafone helpdesk. Sometimes the dongles have problems. I suppose that they will change it.
