When i want to format my USB flash memory it

It showed that the memory card has bad sectors try fixing it by typing "chkdsk x: /f /r" (x is the memory card) then press enter at the command prompt on your computer

how to want to format you Memory card through Mobile and through computer. the both way i describe you let chose which one you look easy.

Through Mobile.

Switch off the mobile and Insert your memory card in mobile.

Step 1.

Press the white menu button.

Step 2.

Select "Applications".

Step 3.

Select "File mgr.".

Step 4.

Double-click on "E: Memory Card".

Step 5.

Select "Options".

Step 6.

Select "Memory Card Options" and then "Format".

Through -PC

Formatting your memory card, flash drive or device:
1. Double-click My Computer, or Computer (for Vista)
2. Right-click the drive letter associated with your memory card, flash drive or device, then select Format
(in the sample image below, we right-clicked on H:)
WARNING: Make sure you select the correct drive letter.

3. Select a File system type.
NOTE: Select FAT32 for 4GB or higher capacities. FAT for 2GB or lower capacities
4. Click Start.



Memory card info and old cameras
Many previous old cameras and portable devices do not work if the card is formatted as FAT32 or NTFS file system. One of the following errors may occur if your device does not support FAT32 or NTFS:
- Error message asking to re-format the flash card.
- Error message that the flash card is not formatted.
- Error message indicating that the card is anomalous.

To resolve the above error, backup your data and reformat your memory card in FAT file system.
If the error persists, re-format the memory card using your camera or portable device.

Most likely, if you're getting a message that says unable to format, your memory card is already corrupted. But if you want to make sure, try to use another card reader or another PC to format it.

I've been encountering this issue. The problem may come from the card reader or the card holder. If possible, use a different card holder and of problem persists, try a different card reader or test on another computer.

have you tried to reformat the flash drive?
go to my computer right click on your 8GB USB drive and select format, this should give you a real clean start.

Move the USB memory-stick to a different computer, preferably one "privately" owned,
and then retry the FORMAT operation.

connect it to PC then... go to My Computer icon on desk top >> right click >> manage >> Disk management >> select ur USB Flash Drive/pen drive >> right click >>format ....ok......

Insert your flash drive.

go to Start>My Computer then right click the entry that corresponds to the flash drive (it should show as removable media) and select 'Format'

You will get a message warning you that this will permanently remove all data on the drive. If you are sure you want to do this select yes.

Be sure you have selected the correct drive before formatting!!

Sometimes when a flash memory stick fails because it was not removed from the USB port properly. If the device is removed by just pulling it out of the USB port, it can cause the flash device to fail, you must click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon on the Task Bar and select the device you wish to remove and only do so when instructed to do so.
When the flash memory device appears to malfunction it maybe possible to restore it by reformatting it. Insert the flash drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that its Healthy.

You need to format the external drive. Format the drive as primary drive and in FAT32.
Insert the external hard drive into the USB port then Click on Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Disk Management.
Then right click on Disk 1 removable drive and click Format. After the flash drive has been formatted it will indicate that its Health

- Click Start / Run / diskmgmt.msc {OK}
- Right-click the memory card, then create a partition & format it.
