Check the drain tab or the drain tube, see if there is any material that carry a grease, there is no way that the grease will come out from the motors because there is no direct contact with water, or maybe you were able to wash a clothes with grease, if thats the case then you gonna need detergent soap and scotch clothe to clean the tab and the tubes

What should I do to stop washer from putting grease on clothes?

Good Afternoon Bernard,

I understand the washer of your Frigidaire laundry center, model# GLEH1642F, is leaving grease in your clothes. I also see that you noticed the grease in the detergent cup. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your washer and determine where the grease is coming from to be able to repair your appliance. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

HOW DO I REMOVE THE AGITATOR TO FIX THE PROBLEM OF GREASE /TRANSMISSION FLUID GETTING ON THE CLOTHING DURING THE WASH. IS THAT THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM?

The top blunt end of the agitator is threaded and when removed allows to agitator to come off. Lots of lint and old soap accumulate there and can pretty much "glue" the agitator in place. Once gone, you will see the drive shaft from the gearbox sticking up. I think you need to pull the gearbox to get to the seal. The gearbox is filled with nasty surpy "blackjack" grease and can be reused. You might get the repair kit from the manufacturer. That will include all the seals and "O" rings needed to keep the tub from leaking and the grease inside the gearbox.

GE WHDSR209D2WW has black grease in the wash water

The grease comes from the transmission. Part 320 on this diagram. You can see from the price it may be better to but a new washer.
depends on weather or not you can do it yourself.

Every once and a while after a load the cloths come out with dark stains on them. Grease maybe or hot water hoses breaking down?

it could be grease that has strated to leak out of the bearings try replaceing hoses 1st if it grease after a heavy load that is when most strain would be put on t bearings thus forceing grease out also if grease the machine will start to get noisey a sure sign of bearing troubles

A few clothing items have come out of the dryer with black stains on them - looks like grease. It happens a lot with sheets. I'm guessing it happens in the wash, but I'm not sure - it couldbe the dryer...

how old is the machine... 9 times out of 10 when there is grease deposits, the tranny is starting to go, and throwing grease in the machine. Happens with all washers near the end of their life.

Sometimes my clothes come out of the washing machine with splotches of fresh black grease on them.

Clean out the gunk from the fabric softener basin in the center of the machine in the tub. The gunk gets on the clothes and then gets baked in the dryer and turns out black grease.

Grease spots and stains

Yes you can. Remember a front loader has no gearbox so no oil is coming from there? fabric conditioner, washing powder, and oils from our bodys can build up on the tub walls. All it needs is a good flush out. You can use dishwashing powder. Run it through with no clothes in you washing machine on a hot wash or a wash and hold a couple of times to flush it out. NZL
