If you are using a cpmputer that has photo imaging software installed then you should be getting a prompt to choose what software you need to view photos with, or you should have received a cd rom from the manfacture to upload them to your computer afterwards you can use picassa from google to set them in photos ablums ect good luck

SOURCE: Uploading pictures form canon powershot sd500

first thing, you have to have the camera in playback (The way to view images on the camera) ((If the lens goes out you have i wrong))
If you have XP / Vista it will come up in my computer and you can copy and past images / videos from it that way. Else Scanner n camera wizzard in XP will pull images off

The Adobe Reader is uploading the pictures to my computer but we cannot find instructions on how to save them there for future access. My camera is a Canon Powershot A80, and my operating system Windows...

I don't know why you're using the Adobe Reader to download your pics. You should be using the software that came with the camera or software that is already on your computer. The easiest procedure and the one the pros use is to use a separate card reader. You create a folder on your desktop and using the card reader, drag and drop your picture files into the folder. Once there, you can view them, save them to places such as "my pictures", e-mail them, etc. typrice_152.jpg

I just recently got a mac laptop and i have had my canon powershot sd1000 but i dont know how to upload my pictures? do i have to download something?

Get a card reader/writer, save your time and effort. No software will be needed for this.
Then upload your files and use your software to edit or upload to the web or whatever.

Downloading pictures that are sideways...

All you need is some editing software, click here. If this problem is occuring after uploading to a website, try rotating the picture before uploading so the "problem" will actually correct the picture.

Images not uploading to computer

  1. Uninstall and reinstall the Canon's software. Something may have gotten corrupted. This is the simplest and fastest thing .
  2. If that does not work, think if you need Canon's software - you can browse to the Canon directory under "My Computer" (or whatever you computer's name is), and copy the JPG files from under there.

Camera can't upload pictures

You can reinstall the software. But a really good solution is a card reader. They are cheap and reliable and don't need any software. When you plug it in, it will install itself, and then when you put your car in the reader its like an extra little hard drive in your computer. Just drage the files or folders where you want them on your computer. Less wear and tear on the camera is always good and then you don't need to plug in power or waste batteries if you don't have a dock.
