I have run recovery disks on my acer aspire desktop but it asks for a SCD back up disk 1 which I do not have. Can you help?

When it asks for this put in the disc you first put in to do recovery ......
when doing recovery it will ask to put in the first recovery cd and when its about 60% it will ask you to put in second recovery disc and just before finish it will ask you to put in that cd which is the first recovery disc again...ive done it and it worked so it should work for you ....best of luck hope this helps

try hitting alt-F10 at startup... should access the recovery partition and then just follow the prompts. hope that helps!

Enable disk-to-disk recovery
To enable disk-to-disk recovery (hard disk recovery), activate the BIOS utility,
then select Main from the categories listed at the top of the screen. Find D2D
Recovery at the bottom of the screen and use the and keys to set this
value to Enabled.

You can create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so Click

Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you
receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

How do i a recovery on ace x3400 with out disk

Hi,

You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key & keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on the computer.

hi, you just reformat your computer then install the vista and the driver of your computer this will back to the normal setting or used your recovery disk if you have, and insert it then recover it. if you have your recovery disk your computer will go back to normal condition just like when you buy it...

How do i reinstall operating system from recovery

SCD=system disk, boot off that. It will start the recovery process.

RCD=recovery disk, will prompt you when to install those. This is the system image to be restored.

Remember, whatever's on there now will be wiped!

a lot of acers have a seperate hard drive with recovry on it have you tried to see if the recovry is on there if not you would go to acer website and eneter your serial number and order new recovery disk get back to me

You can launch Acer eRecovery Management in a number of ways:
By pressing the hotkey <Alt> + <F10> during the boot-up process, or at any
time when you are running Microsoft® Windows®.
This will open the Acer eRecovery Management main page.
Password
Acer eRecovery Management requires a password to activate. The default
password is six zeros (0s).
Note: If an incorrect password is entered three times, Acer
eRecovery Management closes and returns to Windows®
automatically.
System recovery
Step 1: Click on “Recovery actions”.
Step 2: You are presented with a list of available options
CHOOSE-->Recover system from CD/DVD backup
If you choose to restore from an image on an optical disk, the BIOS will be
changed to boot from the optical drive. If no backup disk is found, you are
prompted to insert the disk.
Reinstall
IF THOSE DISKS DONT WORK , YOU CAN ALWAYS RESTORE TO FACTORY SPEC FROM THE HIDDEN PARTITION ON YOUR HARDDRIVE.
