Reboot the system and on restart press the F8 key to access the advanced system options. Select repair my computer to start the system recovery partition.
This option will restore the system to factory settings and some files or programs will have to be reloaded.

Acer Aspire 6920 Restarts in Normal mode and works only in safe mode

Sounds like the MBR ( boot files) are corrupted. Try formatting the hdd before you instal again. I'm sure you have a restore sector on the hdd in which case, if you have done anything to that then you'll need to have the restore disc set which usually comprises of the restore disc and the drivers disc. Either way....just make sure you format c and not d which is usually the resore partition. Good luck

It wont do the restore

Are you trying to restore to a known good time using system restore or are you trying to reinstall the whole operating system?

If you are doing the system restore via the system tools, then chances are the restore point that you chose wasn't working or none of the restore points work.

If you are trying to do a complete operating system reinstallation, then you need a complete package (OS or operating system).
1. Operating system disc
2. Drivers and Utilities disc
3. Other software installation discs.

I am very much interested to help you with this project, and I would like to get the details of your problem.

Thanks

I have an acer aspire one d255 Ive been trying to restore it for awhile now not having any luck I think my recovery section of my HD was damaged what can i do

I have checked with Acer and there is no start up or recovery disc available so you have one option;- purchase a new OS disc.
If you do you must download the drivers from Acer.com.
Hope that helps.

When I have turned on my Acer Aspire 6920 computer this morning it just goes to a screen that says the following Client MAC ADDR : 00 A0 D1 A8 32 D3 Check Cable COnnection PXE-MOF: Exiting Intel PXE ROM...

The first bit with the MAC address is there because it's trying to boot from LAN and it is exiting because no IP address is assigned to it by the DHCP. If your laptop is connected to a network, you can use this feature to image the laptop across the network with an imaging software like Norton Ghost.

The last bit, "Operating System Not found" means that you do not have Windows or any other operating system installed on your laptop. At this point, you can either reinstall your operating system or use the recovery disc that came with the laptop to restore it back to it's factory settings.

I have a acer 6920 and have problem playing blueray dvd

Newer BR disks are in an different format. If you can't view them then either you need a new BR unit or you need to upgrade the firmware of the one you have - if this is possible.

Media center keypad not working

If you are using windows, when the OS is booting, press F8 and select "last known good configuration" in the list of options. Most probably it'll work If it doesn't, try restoring the system to a previous state using system restore utility.
Thanks

Use the restore disc or windows installation cd or dvd to install windows into the computer or perform a repair installation if a windows already exists on the computer and the setup can find it.

I reinstall VISTA on my laptop(ACER 6920) because the language is chinese (clean install) and I also downloaded all the drivers and applications from ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/aspire...

Acer erecovery looks for the hidden partition as it is used for restoring the system back to factory defaults. If the hidden partition is not available, the software will not install.

Nothing to be worried about. You will not even need that software.
