Press and hold Cancel and Copy button simultaneously until the On/Off light flashes green. you will see a flashing green on your printer it means its now cleaning the printhead

You can also clean a printhead using computer., first you need to launch the Home center software On your computer and on the uppr right corner of the windows of the software click help icon(?) then go to maintenance and under maintenance you should see the clean printhead. GudlucK!

My printer wouldn't print at all, zip! Nada! I read that someone said the black wouldnt print but then found they had it set on color only. Mine just didn't print. Contacted Kodak and they wanted to sell me a new printhead for 50 bucks ( they said it came with 2 ink cartridges) I bought a new printer instead. Before getting rid of the kodak, I looked on youtube and it shows you how to take the printhead off which a blind rat can do. I saw how GROSS it was on the underneath side and so I took q-tips dipped in alcohol and kept cleaning the nasty gunk off, didn't take anything apart. Snapped it back in put the cartridges back, the printer said to print a test page, I did and it works fine. Taking new printer back tomorrow as it has never even been opened.

SOURCE: kodak esp-3 printer will not print black

Routine maintenance and keeping full ink tanks will prevent this problem, however if you have the problem you can resolve it by doing the following:
1. Clean your print head using denatured alcohol solvent which can be purchased from most hardware stores. If unavailable, use 91% Alcohol (isopropyl alcohol (first aid antiseptic) which is available for less than a dollar at most Walmart pharmacy departments.

*Warning: You may want to use a pair of latex exam gloves as this is a messy process and can stain your fingers.
Time necessary 45-50 minutes
Supplies needed:
Isopropyl Alcohol or denatured alcohol
paper towels
latex gloves
sink, bowls and or basin
can of compressed air
very small screw driver
tablespoon or baby bulb type syringe
warm water

PROCEDURE:
1. Lift print head from printer. It pulls out easily because it is held in with the same down lever that holds the cartridge in place.
2. Put two layers of paper towels in the bottom of a dish to protect sensitive sprayer heads.
3.Put enough solvent in dish to cover the screens on which the cartridges sit when in use.
4. Take the two small screws out that hold the white ceramic piece
5. Gently, pry the ceramic piece back and away , to reveal the underside (No need to pull away the glued points on the sides.)
6. Gently, move head up and down to slosh solvent around it the best as you can. Use a table spoon or syringe to pour solvent over all orifices in the print head, turning it upside down and then back a few times.
7. Use canned air with a plastic straw to blow into and through all orifices, alternately sloshing/swishing and pouring solvent over head (be careful not to touch any of the holes, screens, or sprayer heads with anything)
8. Empty dirty solvent from bowl and replace with paper towels and clean solvent. Soak for approx 10 minutes. Rinse again with clean solvent poured directly on all parts, letting solvent overrun and fall into dish or basin.
9. Gently shake the solvent off the head, take it outside and spray with compressed air into all orifices to clear out and help evaporate any remaining solvent. Let sit on a clean paper towel for approx 20 minutes. (There may be a little ink bleeding out of the head, but once it dries completely it does not present any problems.
10. Reinstall head, cartridges and it will print like a new printer.

SUGGESTION: For many years of problem free printing, keep a double set of ink cartridges, one set full at all times. Whenever a cartridge runs out of ink, replace it IMMEDIATELY, with a new one or a refilled one. This gives the print head no chance to dry out and create clogged heads. Routine maintenance of cleaning the heads every 24 months does wonders for keeping your printer in new condition.

Hope this helps. .

SOURCE: my kodak esp3 will not scan it prints and copies.

I had the same problem and I got it to work. I have Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 on my computer. Here's what I did...

Go to "Start" then "Control Panel".
-Click on "Programs and Features".
-Scroll down to Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - click on that and then click on the "Change" link above.
-A box will pop up, click on "Add or Remove Features" and then click "Continue".
-Click on the "+" next to "Office Tools"
-Click on the "+" next to "Microsoft Office Document Imaging"
-Click on the down arrow next to "Scanning, OCR and Indexing..."
-Then, click on "Run from my Computer"
-Next click on "Continue" at the bottom of the dialogue box and your configuration process should begin

Once completed go to the start menu and type in "Scan" into the search box. Go to "Microsoft Office Document Scanning" Once there, plug your scanner into you computer, chose what color you want your scan to be in, and click on the picture of the scanner to the right. To make my scans clear, I had to click on "Scanner..." and chose KODAK ESP AiO as my scanner even though I have a KODAK ESP-3 printer/scanner.

I hope these instructions weren't too confusing and I hope this helps some of you out! My scanner was causing me a lot of frustration for a while!

Kodak esp office 6150 printing blank pages

Here's how I fixed my Kodak AIO 6150.
  1. 1. Remove cartridges
  2. 2. Remove the print head - lift up on the grey tab just above the bullseye - it'll pop right out - no tools needed.
  3. 3. Soak in alcohol - NOT RUBBING alcohol - Isopropyl 91% only for 1-2 hours - shake often.
  4. 4. Let it dry for at least 2-3 hours.
  5. 5. Reinstall everything. You'll get a new printhead message.

The black on my Kodak ESP-3 has stopped working

The black print head nozzles maybe blocked.

Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent blocked print head nozzles. You may have blocked print head nozzles.
Try the printer maintenance to clear the printer nozzles.
After several deep cleaning attempts and there is no improvements in the print then a new print head is required.
A new print head maybe expensive and it maybe more cost effective to purchase a new printer.

I have a kodak ESP-3 all in one printer that has a new black, and new color ink cartridge, and the printer does not print any colors. only prints black, grey, and a litte bit of greenish tint.

Inkjet printers do not like being left unused.
The color print head may be blocked. Try several deep cleaning of the print head to see if it can clear the blocked print nozzles.
If none of this works then the print head needs to be replaced.
A new cartridge will not solve this problem.
NOTE the print head is not a cheap item, you may consider putting the money towards a new and better printer.

How do I clear a paper jam in the Kodak ESP-3 can't get to the paper

If you have tried the Kodak standard instructions for clearing the paper jam problem and it did not help try the procedure below. Works for esp 7.
1. Open the printing area of the printer (containing the ink cartridges).
2. The Ink cartridge holder should be to right side of track.
3. Look on left side, below the track for the cartridge that is used to
clean the print heads. It can be identified by a square black pad
approx. 1" sqaure that appears to be made of "felt".
If it is visible this is most likely your problem.
4. To correct problem locate the flat latching lever approx. 3/4" wide that
sticks up about 1/2" above the cartridge. It is locacted just behind
the "felt" square. Gently push lever toward rear which should free the
cleaning cartridge and allow the entir cartridge to move slightly
backward.
5. Close the top of the printer and cycle the printer off and back on.
If this is the problem, the "paper jam" error will now be gone.
This is such a simple fix I do not know why kodak does not inform
customers of this problem and how to fix it.
