Sony Vaio PCG-K86P laptop

Hi,

Having a problem booting my Sony Vaio PCG-K86P laptop, power indicator lights up but screen does not display anything. Have tried Sony's solution ie., unplugging AC adaptor, removing battery leaving off for about 1 min then inserting batt and AC power. This does not solve problem. I found that removing battery and switching on using AC adaptor power did work and I got my screen display working.

However this does not always work, can you please advise.

My Sony Vaio PCG-K86P laptop is three years old and just over 24 months ago had a new motherboard installed, more recently had the Laptop checked out by an IT Service Techo and he gave a good report like saying it had at least another years life etc.

Appreciate if you can advise what might be the problem and point me in the right direction.

My sony laptop model is VPCSA3GX with win 7*64 bit OS.I purchased it 18 months ago.Recently, its battery doesn't charge more than 65 to 70%. No battery care function that limits the charging level is enabled. The Vaio care software says the battery health is excellent.I tried another compatible charger, but It doesn't charge more than 70%.please help me for solving this problem

Sony GRZ610 is a piece of ****. It overheats itself due to poorly designed processor cooling. With time processor performance degrades.

Black screen is an indicator of some fault condition ( I am guessing overtemp. related). Removing power helps clear the fault code.

Removing all the power (battery and ac input) overnight will work usually. However, the processor maybe as good as dead.
