How do i open the cd tray on a sony mhc-rg70av shelf system that seems stuck

Remove the belt and measure it in MM. The search for a belt at that size with Google. You don't have to be too precise about the size. For example if it is 48mm than a 50mm belt should do the trick. Don't bother with the maker's name either. Then can be universal. As long as it looks right.

From the manual: "Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility."

There might be a small hole for a safety pin. Press that and it will pop open.

Somewhat confused. If it won't open, there should be something you can press a safety pin into and it will open it.

we both have the same issue. Probably with moving it around, the CD system got pulled down. I fixed this by opening the right hand side wall, with the system upright, and shoved it towards the ceiling. Then I flipped it to the side and loaded the disc, and it worked. Make sure you disconnect the power before anything.

Check if the tray got a belt and change it

Check any 'Audio In' pins at rear of hifi unit and hook 'TV Audio Out' pins there and select Aux or Video input to have TV sound in this unit.

Please check the underside of the system . The transportation lock at the bottom may be locked manually .

You'll have to unplug the unit and remove the cover to get it out. Be careful and good luck.
