I have a Panasonic DMR-ES30V. I've only ever recorded from what I'm watching on the TV to a DVD. I now have a VHS tape that I'd like to record to DVD. I tried starting the dvd to record...

Most Combo Recorders (VHS and DVD) will prevent you from
recording a Copyrighted VHS tape program onto DVD.
Try recording a TV program onto your VHS tape, then
transfer it to your DVD and see if your new DVD recording
will work or not.

I own a Panasonic 3ccd nvgs mini dv i was shooting some footage...tape got horizontal lines on it... i really really need that tape... can it be fixed?...thx a milion

Sounds like dirty heads .
If the lines are recorded onto the tape, probaly not.
Try a head cleaning tape in the camera or use another playback device.
If the lines are recorded onto the tape then track down someone with a TBC (timebase corrector) and pipe the signal through that and record to another tape.

How to download photos from camcorder to computer

Your camera records photos on card. So, eject the card, put it onto any card reader, and simply copy your images onto PC.
Second tip - download or install USB driver for Your cam. After installing, connect it to PC. Your card appears like a new disc on Your system. Then copy photos.
Be careful! Don´t unplug the cam. Eject it from windows safely! And during transfer unplugging the card means data loss!
Good luck!

Is it possible to copy 3 short Hi-8 tapes onto one DVD+R disc?

Yes...First chose the appropriate Record Quality based on the total length of all 3 videos you want to transfer. Next using a RCA component cable, connect the Yellow, Red and White from the Hi-8 camcorder to the DVDirect RCA inputs. After each tape has finished, just press the red record button...Press it again when the next tape your want to record begins. When all are done prrss the stop button (small button above the record button) and finalize as normal.

Unable to "dub" my 8mm tapes onto DVD-R using my Sylvania DV90VE

From comments posted on the Internet by other Sylvania users with a similar problem, I  learned that I had to use a 4X DVD-R (the ones I had been trying to record on were 16X). And I found that Office Depot sells the sometimes hard-to-find 4X format, so that's where I'm headed right after lunch.  Thanks.

Why doesn't DVD disc play on my computer?

Hello again

I don't know what gear you are using or exactly what you want to do, but I assume you want to put some of your old video vhs tapes or something you have borrowed, on to your computer.

Your DVD/HDD recorder will probably support DVD-R as well as DVD-RAM unless you are very unlucky. If it's a Panasonic it will definitely support DVD-R. DVD-R are reasonably cheap these days so you could use them for recording instead of DVD-RAM, then easily play them on your computer's drive. You would have the added advantage of a back up disc as well. If you want to edit first, use the HDD on the highest quality setting then transfer your edited work to a DVD-R..

Alternatively, you could buy an external dvd drive for your computer that supports -RAM, such as Icy Box or similar. External drives are reasonably priced and if you plan to transfer a lot of video, it would be a worthwhile investment.

Yes, you could probably connect the DVR direct you your computer but you would need an appropriate media card plus suitable software.

Good luck....hope this helps...
