My Opal Is deleting music after it gets over 69 songs. Its a 7gb so that shouldnt happen. Every time I add a song it takes the song but delete another, and I cant find the music. Help. I just got it last...

I do believe that your memory might be corrupted or you memory has a broken memory unit. try to plug it into a computer and make sure they have windows media 11 it works best for that opal. not nessarily needed though. after the plugin does your computer show that it was pluged in if so back up your music and format the memory in it. my computer, it should show your opal right click and format.

Fatal error on RCA Opal:
What do I do if I experience a Fatal Error? How Do I reset my Opal?
The Opal has a reset hole on the back of the unit in which a toothpick (non metallic) can be inserted to reboot the player. If this does not work, I suggest that you reformat the player by using the Windows format command on the unit. To reformat the memory:
Right click on the device within the Explorer or My Computer window
Select the format command (full format) to reformat the internal memory of the device.
Reinstall the firmware from http://download.rcaaudiovideo.com/downloads/opal_fwutility_v2.3.0.exe

Help with pictures?

In order to add pictures, you need to go to the Media>Pictures folder (go to My Computer1.gif>Opal (should be listed under Audio Devices as Opal with an icon that looks sort of like an old Minidisc player - you might have to scroll down to find the icon once you click on "My Computer in Win XP), and add pictures from your collection.
P.S. Please rate accordingly...
Thank you

RCA OPAL M4002A Video Problem

You need the specific video converter software from RCA that comes on the CD included with the Opal.  If you don't have that, post here and I'll try to upload the image somewhere as an .iso file.  This is necessary to get the video into the final format the Opal can use.  As far as I know, other video convertors won't format the file properly.

F55 - how do I save MPEGs?

With Picture Gear Lite you have to click on the MPEG file (the same one you clicked on to start the actual download)...hold down the right mouse button and drag it over to a directory or folder on the left part of the screen. It will now be saved there. Picture Gear Lite is so irritating! Not very intuitive. You can't even name the file before you save it in a folder.
