Krups KM7000 grinds but won't brew, warming plate no heat. Is this repairable, (perhaps a fuse?) or is it junk. Bought the machine in March 2008

Mine had the same problem ... all the lights are on, but no heating on the plate, and no dripping of water.

After a weekend on the workbench, I've mastered this machine. The KM7000 has 2 x MicroTemp G4 thermal cutoff (TCO) fuses which interrupt the Live line, for overheat protection. Mine didn't overheat per se, but the TCO blew anyway. Not reset-able ... need to be replaced with a soldering iron. I'll be happy to advise you to fix this, or fix it for you. You will also eventually burn out the hotplate element, which just happened to me. About a year and a half ago, I replaced the thermal fuses, and yesterday it stopped heating again. I was all set with spare thermal fusses, but they both checked good. While troubleshooting, I discovered that the hotplate element finally burned out. I was getting 120v across it, which tells me that it is open. You can get a new one that also comes with the thermal fuses for about $11, at www.goodmans.net for this model. Well worth it!

I had this problem with my Krups FMF5 - 14 coffee pot. I would get an error that the water tank was empty, when it was actually full. Rather than a faulty water level sensor, the problem was two faulty Thermal Fuses at the bottom of the coffee pot.

To fix it I removed the bottom of the coffee maker (requires a torx security bit (http://www.jwestsales.com/product_images/p/826/torx_t10_security_tamper_proof_high_quality_1__14535_zoom.jpg) I used a small flat head screwdrive instead).

ALong side the warmer plate and heating unit there are two white plastic sleeves attached. Unclip the sleeves and slide them down the wire to expose the thermal fuses. I purchesed two new ones at Radio Shack for $3.50. Re-clamp the fuses and reinstall in the reverse order.

Got a Krups KM7000. Coffee grinds but no water to brew coffee.Just clicks. then nothing. Tried to reset by unplugging but no help. Grinds everytime even when it's not supposed to. Water will not dispense.

This seems to be a common problem with this rig. So far, I've helped 13 people on this site with exactly the same problem ... all the lights are on, but no heat on the plate and no dripping water.
