Installing 1 1/2 ton Weatherking Heatpump and ADP WAK351807P2 air handler 1 /1/2 with 7.5KW back up heat kit. Can't seem to get the thermostat hooked correctly. I understand the Weather King product reversing valve is different wired than other models. Color of wires on outside unit and inside unit don't match. Is there an easy wiring guide? I understand the R G Y W, but get hung up on the O B. Installing a Honeywell Digital non programable RTH3100C thermostat.

O energizes the reversing valve when the thermostat is set for COOL. B energizes the reversing valve when the thermostat is set for HEAT.
The O/B is usually a orange or black wire.
You can't hurt anything if you choose O or B incorrectly. Hook one of them up and run the unit. If set for COOL and the unit runs cool inside it is correct. If set for COOL and the unit runs warm inside it is not correct.
If the inside temp is opposite from your setting change the wire to the other terminal.
Remember to disconnect power from the air handler when changing thermostat wires.
The defrost control board on the outside unit should be marked correctly for O or B.
Your thermostat may have a slide switch rather than a separate terminal.

WeatherKing Model 10AJA1801 s/n 6827 M0503 04375 need to know if this model is a 2 ton?

This should be around a 1.5 ton outside unit. It depends on the air handler to the exact tonnage.

Had 16 xi Trane heat pump installed 3 years ago. It ran well for the first couple of years. It began to stop heating and would blow cold air only. Have tried both aux heat and reg. heat to run and neither...

That's a complicated system that needs a qualified technician to service it. Lots of people can install them and they run fine, for a few years. Your indoor unit, operating on 2 heat elements, will feel like its blowing cold air even though its heating, just not so well. And not like you are accustomed to. Each element (5kw)=22.7amps, on average. So 3 elements operating should trip a breaker. Its probably been operating on 2 heat element plus the heat pump. And now you have trouble with the heat pump. If you can't TRUST the guys working on your equipment, try someone else. A second opinion. Normally a 3 or 4 ton unit will have 15kw heat installed, heatpump or not. 5 ton, 20kw. If yours is a 3-4ton, cooling, the 100amp(or normally two 60 amp) breaker should have been installed upon equipment change out. If yours is blowing cold all the time, something is wrong with your heatpump. The electric heat inside operates only when the heatpump can't keep up(real cold outside), the heatpump is in defrost(then it's actually in cooling mode), or if you have the tstat in aux/em. heat. Try a local trane dealer? Of a technician with 15-20 yrs under their belt. A trane dealer should have trane tech support also. BIG HELP!!!

Hi I have a hb2400vd2m20 air handler and need to know what wires are needed to hook up to my thermostat its a Honeywell, as of the moment there is no heat pump it just the air handler running. I know there...

Honeywell 5000, 8000, 8000 iaq, prestige, round dial analog, digital Honeywell redlink. 1 heat 1 cool thermostat 3 heat 2 cool thermostat. does the stat u have do conventional a/c and heat pump. red wire is hot wire 24 volts not heating its your 24 volt control power. this will be r on your board and t-stat and red wire. y is for cooling mode and is yellow and will be noted y on both board and t stat. green is fan on the indoor furnace and will be g on board and t-stat and the wire is green. blue is the common side of the transformer labeled b on both board and t-stat. I did not see brown on your schematic I looked up I seen orange which is your reversing valve wire for the heat pump whether its calling for cooling or heat this is what changes the flow of Freon to make it to the indoor coil as warm Freon or cold when called for in heat or cool. the thermostat if a vision pro 8000 needs to be programmed in the installer mode which if this is the t-stat u have u need to read through the heat pump section. the green hooked to the orange doesn't look right on the print but that's the breakdown. http://www.manualslib.com/manual/277678/Haier-Hb2400vd2m20.html?page=11#manual heres your schematic

Ok. heatpump change out, 17 year old rheem to adp air handler and weather king heatpump 3 ton outdoor. The wiring from the thermostat is killing me in the attic. I got the cooling side to work, and also...

If your heat strips come on with out the fan then you need to change the settings on the tstat for electric heat rather than gas. Or change the setting to where the tstat controls the fan. But, sounds to me like you have your tstat miswired. Did you wire in the reversing valve? Is the valve energized in heating or cooling? Tell me what colors land where at all three locations.

Originally installed in 1978 as a heat pump. Threw away the outside unit. Want to use the electric inside furnace/air handler as a shop heating source. I don't know how to wire in the thermostat which...

Red is 24v from transformer to terminal R
Green is to Terminal G for the air handler fan motor
Yellow is to Terminal Y for calling cooling to the compressor and fan outdoor unit
White is to Terminal W for calling the heat trips which are usually sequenced to keep them from all coming on at once and over drawing Amps and kick off breakers.
Orange was for outdoor reversing valve for a heatpump system
Blue or Black is usually used for common or negative continuity in the circuit such as Red wire and Blue/Black wire to power a thermostat features on digital T-stats. If not digital T-stat then no common is needed to hook-up at T-stat
