Whirlpool Duet washer...after problem with it getting out of balance due to not draining and trying to spin with a heavy load, I have since noticed if I place my hand inside the tub..it will spin freely and will move back and forth. The drum vibrates when spinning and caused the drum pulley to strip out and belt came off. i replaced belt and pulley but now hear a clicking noise when it turns. Finally, the drum itself seems to be leaning and I can move it front to back. Is that normal as well. I am worried an absorber has failed when the heavy load cause an imbalance. Thanks Patricia

Your original problem is likely to have damaged the bearings and the spin tub shaft... the shocks can fail, but that would not affect the fitment of the shaft and bearings.

SOURCE: Whirlpool Duet Washer

dc, drop the front bottom panel and make sure the 4 shocks are connected to the tub and bottom panel, then check the front and rear counterweights. They may have loosened up. Remove back panel or top to check the rear counterweight. The top removes by removing the 3 screws in back and it slides off. If all this checks ok then I would suspect the rear bearing wollowing out. Catriver..post back.

SOURCE: drum off balance

It's either a bad suspension spring or you have a crack in the tub support.

SOURCE: whirlpool duet makes loud noises(Hummm) during

You will need to clean the catch out that is located in front of the pump. Sounds just like it is full of lint or has something clogging it restricting the water from draining. This is where the humming comes from. If you take the bottom panel off. You can see the catch. Just open and clean out.

SOURCE: My washer is out of balance when spinning.

Hi,
Your problem is probably much more than the washer being out of balance. The front load washers have shock absorbers that hold them from moving all over the place. These have a habit of breaking. Then the drum hammers and sounds like things are flying apart. Pull the bottom front off and check the shocks. Typically the rings where the pins go throuhg are where they will break. Sometimes at first they look okay and you have to grab them and move them to see that they are broken.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

Thanks for using Fixya!!

My whirlpool Duet 9750 takes a long time to spin out and has a difficult time trying to balance

I owned a Whirlpool Duet and had spin/balance problems when I washed heavy and light items together. During a deep freeze my drain hose froze. Did everything I could think of until I ran hot water through washer. It took awhile to thaw. If your floor is weak, you will have a lot of vibration and walking. Hope this helps.

My Whirlpool front load washer is out of balance when spinning. It makes a loud noise. How do I get the tub back in balance? GHW9200LQ is the model.

Hi,
Whirlpool front load washers have shock absorbers that helps them in moving the washer around the place. Due to regular usage of the washer it may tend to break. This will result in drum hammering sound . To clear this problem pull the bottom front off and check the shocks. Typically the rings where the pins go through are where they will break. You have to grab them and should have a complete check by moving them to see that whether they are broken.
Thank you !!

Whirlpool front load washer won't spin - just sometimes

Most Whirlpool (Hotpoint) machines have "out of balance" sensors that detect very large movements of the drum suspension usually due to a very badly balanced washing load.
This can occur for various reasons but putting large and/or heavy items in can trigger these sensors i,f as the machine starts to spin, the items dont get distributed evenly around the drum. This is more likley with large/heavy items.
The machine will then restrict the spin speed for the remainder of the wash cycle, and once the machine is switched off, the next time the machine is used it returns the spin speed back to normal - but if it detects an out of balance situation, it will again restrict the spin speed.
It sounds to me the machine is acting as designed. You could try positioning the items differently as you load them, and hope they dont end up "all over one side".

My whirlpool duet washer will rotate to balance

If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and "F/02" is flashed.

NOTE: After 4 minutes the "Sud" error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F02 error code will be displayed.

To solve this:

Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.
  • Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
  • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
  • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
  • If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump.
thanks.

How do you wash one rug? I can't get the machine

You dont say how big this rug is, but I am guessing its not big enough to spreadevenly around the machine. The machine senses an imbalance and willo not spin or failos to spin at a rate that would rekove the water. Try adding some balance to the drum with another object that will evenly spread the load to see if that helops to get rid of the sopping water.
BTW any pictures of you whipping the rug around in the backyard? That should make for Utube fame!

My 9150 doesn't spin well and my clothes are very wet, when they come out. Then when I try to spin & drain only, it wants to run for 4 hours. Looking at the problems how good of a product did I buy.

from the description you are giving, i would guess that: 1. the "coin-catcher" ahead of the pump is plugged. 2. the tub is overloaded. 3. the loads are heavy, bulky [ blankets, jeans, towels]. when a load is too big or it is all very absorbent materials, the machine tries to balance the load before it goes into a final spin, it will not spin on high if it cannot balance - remember, ten towels or pairs of jeans soaked with water is darned heavy - mix the loads i'm familiar with this machine because i have one, i repair washers and dryers as part of my job, in my opinion, the duet is the best and most reliable washer available

Duet Washer spin cycle makes noise

if it was from a heavy load more than likely 2 screws came off of the tripod on the back of the metal basket.

take of the front lower panel of the washer and clean out the drain pump, if the screws came out they should be in there. to actually fix the problem you would have to take the entire tub assembly out and apart to get to the baskside of themetal basket.

but in general, its not that hard to fix if you are mechanical savvy. i fixed mine myself and im a 27 yo female who has never looked inside a washer before this experience.

Washer leaking from bottom

Take the front panel off of the washer, and run it through a cycle. Watch to see where the leak is coming from. Also, pay attention to the drain in the wall when it is in spin/drain. If this has a blockage in it, it might be backing up causing water to come back out of it.

If you see no leaks the next time you run it, it's possible that it splashed over while spinning because of the off balance load and may not happen again unless it becomes off balance again.
