This is usually a sign that the cd drive has failed..

The only other things it could be are, something has lodged itself inside the cd tray.

Or the lens has become extremely dirty.

You could try running a lens cleaning disk through the drive, after blowing it out with a can of compressed air, and it may help..

but more then likely its just a bad disk.

How to eject a disk from a slot drive, when you've tried everything else

This is about trying to eject a CD or DVD stuck in a slot drive.
Most computers have a drawer-based cd drive which rarely suffers from disk jams.

Some high end PCs (and nearly all Macs) have slot drives where you feed the disk into a slot, the disk is then pulled into the machine. This gives better structural strength to the case, looks neater etc etc...

The problem is that occasionally a disk will get stuck. and there’s no little release hole on the front to push a paperclip in. There is lots of advice on the internet for the Macs, the Wii, and Pioneer drives of varying types, and most of these advise OS tricks, or firmware commands, however this trick is for when all those methods have been tried, and the disk is still trapped in the machine.

The idea is to stop the disk spinning and fool the drive into thinking the CD is bad, and it will eject it. I was taught this trick by a retired engineer, and it works a treat.

Fold a piece of cardboard (I used the side of a Frosties box) lengthways twice, until it’s quite stiff... Carefully push it into the slot until it bumps up against the edge of the CD/DVD.

Start the machine, and push the cardboard firmly against the disk to prevent it spinning. Wait for the regurgitating noises, and remove the cardboard to allow the disk to be ejected.

Easy.

Cd rom makes clicking noise and ejects cd

THis happens because (a) the disk you entered is scratched, or not a recognised format or (b) your cd rom is broken. try insertin another disk. if the problem persists, try cleaning it. if all else fails, buy a new drive.

I suggest you disassemble the radio and take it out that way. While your in you can check on the blockage. Shouldn' t be hard. Good luck.

My cd rom is stuck, when i click eject button it won't open. I put the paperclip in the hole while the computer was on and it made a weird spinning, scraping noise. Now when I put the paper clip in it...

if you do that while the computer is on the disk drive is actually in the locked positon you have to do that with the computer off try that and see if it works.

Under counter audiovox tv

You can try to unplug it then plug it in and try eject. If that don't work the it will have to be disasembled to remove the disk. it could be that the disk is not spinning up and in that case it will have to be repaired

CD PLayer won't play CD's

Hi First of all, you must find all the screws for the top cover and remove it. Make sure the unit is not plugged in! Then, making sure that you are not touching anything inside the unit, plug it back in,put a Cd in the drawer, and watch what happens. If the drawer closes, but you can still hear a motor running, then it is a belt drive unit, and the belt is slipping, if that part is ok, listen carefully for a ticking noise, which is the laser lense going up and down trying to focus on the CD, if the disk starts to spin then the mech has closed properly, and the unit is trying to find the directory. If the unit then spins the disk for a while then ejects it, then the laser is dirty or faulty. I would suggest getting it cleaned at a shop if the lense appears dirty. ***Never look straight down at the laser lense if it is exposed on your model of CD player, it is a class 3 laser, and you will be doing some harmful home laser surgery to yourself!!!*** Hope this helps! Good Luck! P.S. When following the steps above, if you hear the ticking of the lense moving up and down, but the disk does not spin, gently spin it clockwise with your finger, if it starts to play, or finds the directory, then the spin motor is bad.
