We have a 10 burner, 2 oven freestanding unit.

We have a 10 burner, 2 oven, freestanding Imperial unit--I can't find any model numbers after opening and moving everything I could. This is in a church kitchen. None of the burners nor the ovens will light. A spark is visible when the stove burner knobs are turned to the lite position. The gas supply is on. Some operators say they smell gas and it sounds like gas is flowing. I indicated that the range is the model I listed because there was the number 10 in the title possibly referring to the 10 burners. But I don't really know if that is the our model.

SOURCE: Oven gas will not flow with pilot lit

There are basically two types of ranges to deal with:

those with sealed top burners, which are pretty much the standard today, and the conventional, 'non-sealed' ones.
While they operate in much the same way, their conversion is usually different. There are still a few ranges that use adjustable sealed burner orifices, but most are 'fixed' and must be individually replaced to convert each burner from one fuel to another.

(An orifice is simply a small brass fitting with a specifically sized hole very accurately drilled through it, and, if adjustable, has a provision to change the size of this hole by turning closed a threaded portion).

Either way, basically what you're doing when going from natural gas to LP is changing to a smaller orifice to allow for the higher pressure supplied by the 'bottled' gas (The available energy in each ft of gas is different too, but for our purpose here that's not important). Natural gas supplies typically run around a pressure of 5.5 inches water column, while LP runs at twice that pressure, averaging around 11 inches.

The orifice through which the gas travels to the burner must be smaller to accommodate this difference.
Adjustable orifices are simply 'snugged' down, clockwise, with a 1/2 inch open-end wrench, to convert them. Nearly all oven burners use these too - more about that in a minute.
Fixed orifices are replaced, and the good news is: the LP parts are usually included with the new range. On some brands (GE being one), the unused set is attached to a storage point on the stove, and this is a great idea. This way, they can't get lost, and if you ever want to convert back, there they are!
The not-so-good news: these little top burner orifices very often require a metric wrench to remove & install. And some can't be changed without a very slender wrench or nut driver.

SOURCE: On my Imperial gas oven the pilot light ignites

Do you push a red button to light the pilot ? Does the pilot stay on after you hold the button for 30 seconds ? Need more information. Could be the safety... could be the thermocouple....?

SOURCE: where is the pilot light for imperial range oven

Stick the torch or whatever way back on the LEFT hole. You will see the pilot go on. Do not let go of the red button (which you are holding the whole time) for 60 seconds after it's lit.

I just bought a about 35year old house it has a chef contessa deluxe gas freestanding oven and warmer i don't know the model no can you help i need a manual and parts

Hello Helen, most model number labels can be found either under the cook-top surface burners; on the side of the oven unit; or in the back near the vent. Other places to consider, behind the oven door jamb along the top or side edges. If your particular stove unit has a kick plate, you may find the oven's schematic attached to the inside of the kick plate with may contain the technical data to your unit. Hope this helps.

I continue to get code F11 on my Kenmore Elite Gas Range Oven and therefore, I am unable to unlock / open my oven door. I have pressed and held down the STOP button as well as the oven light button.

Your model number should be much longer than 790 30 Open drawers and doors to look for the whole model number around the frame.

With the whole model number you can get more information at Sears Parts Direct. There are parts diagrams and user manuals and you can order parts.

This site gives instructions for repairing F11 and recommends checking the temperature probe and tells how to do it.

What causes the flame switch to cut out ion an Imperial ICVD convection oven

This flame sensor switch is a safety device that only allows the main valve to open after is is satisfied there is a pilot flame. Otherwise if there were no pilot and the main valve was allowed to open, the inside of the burner area would quickly fill with gas and pose an exposion hazard. The original capillary tube type switch is obsolete and a new electronic unit conversion kit is available. Contact Imperial tech support for more information

Crooked stovetop burners

This happens when purchasing pans/bowls from home depot ect..., there are so many different shapes and models you never get the right ones. Order new bowls online with your model number located behind oven door to get the correct size and the elements should be fine.

Inglis electric freestanding range model #IRE3230- Oven no longer working

If the oven and the electric panel no longer work, this is an electronic problem. The burners and the oven light will not be effected, nor will the fuses. The electronics card will need to be replaced by an appliance technician.

IMPERIAL ICV-1 SINGLE DECK CONVENCTION OVEN

this is a common indication that the ignition module is probably going bad or the flame sensor is not sensing the flame on the burners. There are other, more technical issues possible but this is usually the most common. The "not restart" , if referring to the burners, is an indication that the ignition module has "locked out" the system, usually after 3 failures of attempts to light the burners.
