Question about Dell Inspiron 5100 Notebook
I have a dell inspiron 5150 laptop, i forgot admin. password so i cant log on my computer...how do i change or reset password??
Restart your laptop and keep tapping F8 key the moment you see something on the screen. You will get a black screen with some options written in white. Select the option Safe mode and then you can create a new user with admin rights. Or else at the windows login screen press and hold ctrl and alt key and tap delete key twice and then it will take you to a login screen. Dont put any password there just hit enter. And you will be able to login with admin rights.

You will require windows cd to reset or remove the password, first boot with cd and you get option to press any key to boot with cd ,press any key now windows will start copying files ,dont worry we are not reinstalling windows so keep up the installation process till you get the screen which says installing devices and windows time will be approx. 39 minutes to complete installation
quickly press Shift key+F10 this combination will stop windows installation and new window will pop that gives you option to reset and remove password.
Now do as you like and remove windows cd ,
It is the best possible solution you may find in all of cyberspace ,no harm to computer is done ,i hope you will be happy to use this technique and help others as well.
thanks and regards

Tips for a great answer:
heres directions on resetting in safe mode if the battery fails
Hold F8 as the computer boots before the os boots and then select Safe Mode option (not the others) The computer will boot up from here, but there should be an additional "Administrator" account. Log in to this account (There shouldn't be a password, but if there is, try "admin") and navigate to the User account panel in control panel. From there, select your account name, and select the "Remove Password" option
