Could be the gas pressure regulator.

SOURCE: charmglow patio heater

Well, I just went out this morning and worked on the heater after it would not light last night. Turns out that a spider or moth set up camp in the pilot light intake housing and plugged up the two small mixer holes that pull in air for the pilot light. This would explain the 'yellow-flame'. I took a punch awl and some compressed air and cleaned out the hole, then re-installed the cover and knob. Lastly, I turned and depressed the knob and the pilot light ignited almost instantly, stayed on when I let the knob up, and the heater turned on normally after that. Good luck, I hope this helps.

I have a Kirkland patio heater model # PTH-106SS-3G the pilot will not stay lit. Do I need to replace the whole pilot assembly

Hi, If the pilot light goes out when you turn the gas knob to full power on lighting them the most likely cause will be a worn thermocouple, these usually last between 2 years up to 6 years. Found this site very helpful, patio heater problem solving. They have a few solutions to checking patio heaters.

Pilot light on my Charmglow SRPH02 patio heater will not stay light in order ot light the burner. I have tried all of your suggestions in the manual except replacing the Thermocouple. What is that? I...

The themal couple is probably the culprit. You will see one end of it hanging into the pilot. The pilot heats that end creating a small electric current that allows gas valve to operate. There is a small copper line from the tip near pilot other end goes into gas valve. You can buy universal replacement kits. Usually around $15.00. RV parts store good place to look.

Outdoor patio heater won't stay lit

I'm told by Charmglow that the problem is the Thermocouple. iHowever,it took me several calls to get someone to admit this. They are sending a new thermocoupler. My heater is less than a year old and under warranty--but it's a shame things like this happen.

Originally I was told it could'nt be the thermocoupler as they normally last at least 5 years.

Try it--as it may solve your problem as well.
