Hi,
As i understand your concern you have network printer which you want to setup with your network. And right now your printer is connected with the computer using a usb be cable. Thats the main reason why it is having different ip address because it don't required any ip address once you tried to connect your printer through usb cable. I can suggest you that once you connect your printer on the network and you will get the option to network setup on your printer where you can assigned static ip to you printer which is the range for your router or network device called DHCP.

I believe that will help your resolve your concern.

Thanks & Regards

Is the jetdirect card part number a 615n? If so, replace it with a 620N. The 615 cards were bad from the get go. Hp recalled them for about a year providing free upgrades to the 620.

HP P2015dn wirless connection stopped working

Hi,
There is not wireless netwrok card is HP LJ P2015dn, However as i can understand you r using External Wireless Router or Wireless network or jet-direct card if u r able to work fine on USB than printer printing mechanism is working fine.
If u connect the printer via wired network connection and it keeps on loosing IP address than it may be problem with onboard network card of the printer.
If printer keeps on loosing IP Address than try upgrading the firmware of the printer.
To check the firmware and IP Address of the printer print a configuration page by pressing and holding down green button for 6 to 7 seconds

The HP Laserjet P2015N is showing an IP address of 0.0.0.0 it is set to pick up an IP address fron DHCP but it is not. I have tried Factory Rest and normal cold rest. Any ideas? Also we have a few of these...

the printer will only show the 0.0.0.0 IP-address when he cannot contact the DHCP server. check your physical network connection (see if the leds next to the network port on the printer are lit or flickering) and the DHCP config for this printer. if you work with a manual DHCP, you need to enter the printer's MAC address in the DHCP-entry for this printer.

HP LaserJet P2015n Printer IP adress

To Me it looks like your printer is set to automatically select an available IP address. If there is no IP available you get the 0:0:0:0 You need a static IP set up for the printer, this will make sure that no one can use the IP. If this is a company printer, get IT to set it up for you. If its your home network you can set this by yourself by either connecting your printer via usb and using the software from HP or if you have an IP you can log into your PC by entering the IP address in the address bar of your browser. You should get the HP page up for your printer. Set the IP from there in the networking section. I hope this helps a little
