Send the rockford to landis technical-they bought up all the parts to rockfords amps and will get them back to factory specs and recertify it for ya along with a new power certificate-look on rockfords website and snoop around and it will break it on down for ya and give you the address n stuff. i had to send my 1501bd mono amp in to get an overhaul and it came back throwin 1810watts rms so that was better than when i started -good luck.

You have shorted outputs that are causing this. The amp will have to be repaired. I can repair it for you.

If it is a single 12" the rule seems to be 1 cubic foot of airspace. Fill a smaller box with fiberfill
and it thinks it's bigger.

If you want to compensate for the volume taken up by the woofer, you can use the following approximations. Keep in mind that these are for 'normal' woofers. If you're using a competition woofer with a huge frame and magnet structure, refer to the manufacturer for the actual displacement volume of the woofer. Even if you're not using competition woofers, most high quality manufacturers provide this spec in the woofer's datasheet. 8 inch .03 ft3 10 inch .05 ft3 12 inch .07 ft3 15 inch .10 ft3 Also noting that a box that is 12" X 12"X18" should get you in the 1 cu ft range but you may need
to go 14X14X14 or 1.3 cu ft to be able to get the speaker into the box-clearance!
Dont use plywood! It flexes. Use MDF and use a silicone sealer like window or door seal
to make it air-tight. To get more audio out of a small amp, add a port however the calculation
of port size is a bit scarse.
Here is the site I use. Maybe you can write down the www and go view it on someone's computer.
See # 110 on the right side pane. I love this site for all calculations.

I want to hook up a crossfire bmf 12 to my 500s. It is a dual 4 ohm speaker which config will i get the most power out of the amp. Wired at 8ohm bridged or each voice coil on a channel. That amp wont run...

You are correct, the amp will not support 2 ohms bridged. your best bet would probably be to have one voice coil on each channel. You could run them in parallel on one channel. but you will be getting the same power to each sub as if you put one on each channel. If you run them at 8 ohm bridged you will be getting less than 125 wrms per voice coil because of amp inefficiency at such a high resistance. It will sound cleaner also if you have one voice coil per channel.

I have one 12inch 1000 watt mtx sub what size amp should i buy

Hello taona80,

If the 1,000 watts is RMS, I'd recommend an amp in the 750-1,000 watt RMS range, perhaps like the Alpine MRP-M1000 or Rockford-Fosgate T1000bd. If the 1,000 watts is peak power, the subs continuous (RMS) power handling is much lower, probably 300-400 watts. In that case, I'd recommend the Alpine MRP-M500 or Rockford-Fosgate T500-1bd.

I have two 10'' rockford fosgate punch XLC model 2810 that I want to build a box for but I cant seem to find any information on the amount of air volume i need.

you can call rockford fosgates tech support for info @ (800) 669-9899 they will be glad to help. if i remember correctly they required something like .7 per sub but please call to confirm. they will email you the whole product sheet on them. they do it all the time. if you rather use the web and email them they will return your email with the product sheet also @http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/rftech.asp just use there knoldge base and ask a question. good luck.

I have a Rockford Fosgate Puch 1000 watt amp "thermal" problem

With your multimeter set to DC volts, the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amp and the head unit on (so the amp will have remote voltage applied), touch the red lead alternately to the B+ and remote terminals of the amp. If the voltage is below ~11 volts, you need to check the wiring feeding whichever line is too low.

If the voltage remains near or above 12v, disconnect all speaker wires from the speaker terminals of the amp and disconnect signal cables from the amp. If it powers up without the thermal LED being lit, the wiring needs to be checked. If it still indicates that it's in thermal protection, it needs to be serviced. A local repair shop will be the quickest. Rockford will email you the schematics.
