Is there a good diagnostics program for the Asus Crosshair motherboard that will tell me if the board is functioning correctly? I'm trying to figure out why my computer is stalling for several seconds when playing WMP 11 or even Microsoft's onboard solitaire game. It's like it just pauses and then will continue the function or playback after 10-30 seconds. It seems like it's got a chokepoint of some sort. I'm also suspecting the Seagate 250 gig hard drive or Windows Vista of slowing it down so I'm trying to narrow the possibles a little bit. I'm using an AMD 3.1 mhz processor with 6 gigs of OCZ memory.

Google asus probe and install it to check your voltages and temps. also look at your task manager to see what your cpu and memory loads are. with that sort of setup, things should be running pretty good. my guess is your temp is high.

Hi. Asus has a great utility that lets you update your bios even in Windows.

http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=EIDxaW1Ln3YR9RA2

At the download section select your OS and in Utility section find "ASUS Update V7.14.01 Install Program" This program will automatically update your bios.

As for your Ram issue. Did you try each stick in each ram slots ? If you did and saw no issues, then I am only suspescting of incompability between your Rams.
