What is the size of my GE AC unit Model BGTA848RIA

This is a large unit going by the model number.12,000 BTU's per ton. It would be a 5 ton unit, or 60,000 BTU's.

this unit is a 3 1/2 unit...the 42 the model number...possible its a 89 or 97 model...this is a 42,000 btus unit...hope this helps...michael 843-384-8474..

General btu size for AC is rated at 1 ton cooling per 500 square feet.
1 ton equals 12,000 btu.

so 24 is 2
30 is 2 and a half
etc

Need to know unit size

ckl60 5 ton about a 2003 model on most ac heat pumps the model number reflects the ton sized by 12000 btus per ton also as for the indoor unit cfm rating 400 cfm per ton

About the only thing can suggest is see if a lamp or other will work in the outlet that you have the AC unit plugged into.

According to the numbers given here you have a 4 ton a/c. Tons are measured in sections of 12. If the model has 12 in it then it is a one ton if it has 24 in the model number it's a 2 ton a 2 1/2 ton would have a 30 in the model number and so on so since the model number you have here shows it as being a 4 ton unit. Hope this helps
