I have the Optoma ep719 and it will not power on. I plug it in the power light flashes. When you hit the power, the fans will come on and the bulb will light up for about 2 sec. Then it will go back to the green light flashing. I took the system appart to see if there where any swol caps or fat capacitors with no luck. Is there any ideas

Some dry out, and you can't tell by looking at them. see if the colorwheel is spinning. if it chirps before it shuts down, or if it doesn't spin at all, replace it. otherwise replace the ballast.

take the lamp out and shake the projector gently and tilt it in all directions and listen for something loose near the front of the projector. if you hear something it could be the light tunnel has collasped or the colowheel has lost its segments.

Light went out; ordered new bulb; replaced it. Now unit won't stay on nor will lamp light. What to do?

It sounds like the ballast (the high voltage source that powers the bulb) may have failed. Unless you are exceptionally good with electronics, this is likely not a repair you should attempt on your own. I would recommend contacting Optoma's tech support for more information:

Optoma EP719 Projector Won't Power Back On

When you first replaced the bulb it went back on and then later it did not. Most projectors have a safety switch that it is activated upon the bulbs cover placed. Once the cover is removed it activates the switch and shuts down power to bulb. It sounds based on your remarks, that this switch may have intermitten problems. I would suggest, locate this switch and verify its operation. Or, make sure the bulb cover is placed and/or secured properly.

Optoma 719, can't get lamp and fan to turn on.

There is a stuffed 10v 3300uf capacitor on the power board. You need to replace it.
Bellow you can check in the picture where the capacitor is located.

Notice that in this picture I have already took the bad capacitor out and replaced with two small cords to reach the bottom and test the new capacitor.
To reach this place is not fast, several layers of plastic and metal must be removed, but is not a hard task to take the capacitor out and replace it for another.
It works just great! Now it is back on track with awesome image.
