1. is there lint or some pants pocket debris or dirt inside the charging port on the bottom of the phone? use something non metal that won't break inside, it needs to be thin enough to move around and poke around the bottom, not interfering with the chip that sticks out.
before you do that.. turn off the phone and take out the battery just in case. you don't want to short the charging port, so why risk it.
you can use a thin side wooden tooth pick (not the thick rounded ones, they won't fit), or you can use an unused plastic brush tooth pick that's available at most stores like Walgreens, CVS, Safeway, etc..
2. If nothing comes out, try using a different wall charger adapter that works for your Samsung device. Many cell phones use a 3volt charger that won't work with Samsung smartphones because Galaxy phones need a 5volt charger. The others will just trickle charge it or may not work at all. Also, the cord itself. You can't just use any micro USB charging cable. You need to use one that can push enough electricity to your device. So it has to be a Samsung smartphone compatible one. If you have ruled this out..
3. Is the wall outlet bad? Try a different wall outlet. Example: at the airport we tried all the wall outlets in the same area, none of those charged the device. We thought it could be the charging cable or the adapter that was dead. Then we went to another area in the airport and tried again. This time we were charging the phone fine. Cable and charging adapter were apparently working great.
4. If that's not it.. what happens when you try jiggling the charging cable connected to the phone.. try angling the cable head to the left or right.. does it only charge when in a specific position? it could be the charging cable or the charging port that needs fixing..
5. If that was not the case, and everything you've tried doesn't work, it could just be the charging port on the phone is bad. Bring it to your local cellular repair shop. It should cost around $35 to $50 to fix.
6. If your phone is not worth it to fix it, it might be a better idea to buy a newer model phone. If you can't afford another phone or to fix the port, why not just buy a separate battery wall charger. You can buy a cheap China version to charge your existing battery outside of the phone and then just pop the fully charged battery in when you need to use the phone. I'd recommend charging the battery when you are sleeping.
All you need to do is shut down your device, remove the battery if possible and use something small, such as a toothpick, to 'lever up' the little tab inside the USB port on your smartphone or tablet. Do so very carefully and gently, then reinsert your battery and plug it in again.
or this.
First Option: mostly nokia chargers doesn't make problems... just try the following.. connect ur mobile with a system (usb cable)... found out whether it is charging or not... if the same prblm appears then there is a prblm in ur cell phone or power jack(socket)... if it charged with usb cable buy a new charger Please change Phone Bettery and check the charging IF Charging Problem not Solved So
Second Option: Your Phone charging IC Fault So Please change charging IC And charging Problem will Solved Quickly
Hello The charger you are using might have a different voltage rating i.e. either supplying more power or less power. Try charging your iPhone through your computer.
If it charges from the data cable connection, then the problem may be in the charger. If you have a car charger, try that first. If it charges from the car charger (or if you can find a friend with the same model, and it charges from their charger) then the phone is fine and your charger has just failed.
Hi, if the phone charges via your USB port, then the only problem is the phone mains charger. They are cheap to buy a non-genuine item item from ebay. Try here:
I just have the same issue and unfortunately I can see the phone's plug it's messed up. I can see a pin inside came of the connector and it's pushed all the way in the back. Used original Samsung charger only!!<!-- from fixya rte -->
My son has a Samsung digital camera and bought a Samsung SAC-45 USB Digital Camera Charger and a Samsung USB Data & Charger Cable Type4 SUC-C2.
He is able to charge his camera by plugging the cable into a USB outlet on his computer, but cannot get the camera to charge when using the SAC-45, which plugs into a wall 110 volt AC socket on one end and the cable on the other.
So far we have tried three SAC-45 units, keeping the same cable, and Samsung says they are shipping a fourth SAC-45 unit.
I think there is some problem with the cable, but haven't been able to get Samsung to send another cable.
