No power up on motherboard

Hi, I have a Abit NF7-s motherboard. It's been in the machine for about 18 months without a problem. I have just un plugged it and moved it to another room. When I reconnected it, it tried to power up - went on - off - on and the off for good. I have checked the power supply unit and it works fine on another machine. With the psu on there is a red led on - it reads led 1 printed on the board. I have done all the normal and taken all components off but it still will not turn on.
Any help will be greatly received
Andi

I have taken out the motherboard completely and re-mounted it, with just the 2 power leads leads connected and the orange / white on/off switch lead. Still the same - red led on but not response from the on / off button.
    Thanks

I have tested the psu on another machine and it seems to work fine, powers up and runs the machine with all peripherals attached.
    thanks

No still no good. I've checked the on / off switch - OK. Taken motherboard out and remounted. Still no good. I make the assumption the m/b is broken?

Hello

You can buy a power supply tester for about $10. There are several circuits that are tested... if any one of them goes out, the entire power supply is a dead done deal.

red LED off means the standby voltage on your power supply is not working.

I suspect you therefore have a power supply problem. You can test the PS

voltages with a voltmeter, or just try a quick replacement and see what

    happens.

take it to some other system having some MB and try using it there to confirm it.. but if system s booting means there wont be any problem in MB i think.
    anyways good luck.
    thanks you

Did you make sure to install the memory starting from DIMM3? You should install into DIMM3 then DIMM2 according to the NF7 manual.

Try swapping the power supply and as Nitro says also check the cable and connector from the power switch to the mainboard.
