OFTEN the cause of alignment problem is that the paper tractors are too loose and paper moves more than it should. It takes careful adjustment of the tractors to hold paper just right when the hammers hit the characters. Too tight and the tractors tear out the edges, too loose and characters rattle around in alignment.

OTHER problems can be caused by TOO LOW humidity which causes electrostatic attraction and drag. SOMETIMES they use an ionizer bar and the high voltage power supply goes bad. Another thing is drag from the stack of paper source.

How do I fix double printing

Not sure what you mean by double printing.

Is it printing a ghost of what you print further down the page. Or is it mis-aligning the characters so it appears to have a shadow on each character?

How do i align my printhead on canon iP1200

I assume you are using windows.
  1. Go to START, SETTINGS, PRINTERS, double click on the printer icon. Go to FILE, to PROPERTIES, then click on the printer SERVICES tab. Click on ALIGN the print cartridge button and follow instructions on the screen. hope this works
  2. Align the print cartridges Typically, you only align print cartridges after installing or replacing a cartridge. However, you may also need to align cartridges when:
    • Characters are improperly formed or are misaligned at the left margin.
    • Vertical, straight lines are wavy.
    From your printer:
    1. Load plain paper.
    2. Press the Menu button, and scroll to Align Cartridges.
    3. Press Select. An alignment page prints. Once this page prints, your automatic alignment is complete.
    From your computer:
    1. Load plain paper.
    2. Open the Canon Pixma IP 1200 Utility.
    3. From the Cartridges tab, click Align Cartridges... . The Cartridge Alignment dialog appears. alignprintcartridgesa.jpg alignmentpanther.jpg
    4. Click Continue to print the alignment page.
    5. On the Alignment Status dialog, click OK if automatic alignment is successful. If automatic alignment is not successful, clicking OK will return you to Utility Main Window.

Characters on printed documents are misaligned and seem to have a ghost image. How can I fix that?

Usually that happens when your cartridges need to be aligned.
This page explains how to align cartridges on your printer. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=buu00657&cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=422000&tmp_track_link=ot_search
Skip down to the section "Step four: Try to align the page again".

My touch screen does not operate properly. When I attempt to press/touch a character another character appears. Example when touching 1, 4 apperars on the screen. How can I correct or reset the touch...

The touchscreen portion of your display is severely out of alignment. Try finding the utility(use hardware keys) to align the display (under settings). Try to align it. If it is too far out of range, it will kick out your "presses". If this happens, you *might* be able to try a reset, but it likely will not work. Otherwise, your only recourse will be replacement or repair.

Characters in black aren't printing solid. characters are readable, but as a series of closely spaced horizontal stripes. However, in red, or blue, for example, they print fine.

Try cleaning the inkjet nozzles with the self-cleaning utility if have. Also can try aligning the printheads which is a utility on every printer. I would follow the following steps to rule out possibilities:

1) check black cartridge ink level
2) Take the cartridge out of the printer, moisten a paper towel with luke-warm water - not too wet
then with cartridge in hand, firmly press down and make an imprint on the paper towel as if you're using the cartridge as a "stamper".
- You should see a solid footprint of the black ink.
if not, toss it - even if not empty, its dried up from lack of enough frequent use.

If the footprint passes the test, put back in printer and perform an alignment procedure - that should fix it.

New cartridges - printer not printing

Align your cartridges to solve print quality problems such as: • Characters are not properly formed or are not aligned at the left margin. • Vertical, straight lines are wavy. 1 Load paper in the paper support. 2 On the control panel, press Copy. 3 Press Options until Maintenance appears. 4 Press the right arrow until Align Cartridges appears, and then press Select. An alignment page prints. Once this page prints, your automatic alignment is complete.
Please rate this solution.thanks and good luck.

I want to align printf()'s text in center.

printf("Color %s, number1 %d, number2 %05d, hex %x, float %5.2f, unsigned value %u.\n",
"red", 123456, 89, 255, 3.14, 250);
will print the following line (including new-line character, \n):
Color red, number1 123456, number2 00089, hex ff, float 3.14, unsigned value 250.

The printf function returns the number of characters printed, or a negative value if an output error occurs.

for further inf u can see.
