There's also a screen in the dust cup(where everything goes) mine was clogged there, just scraped the dust off it. And it stopped venting out the side.
First, drop a coin into the hole where the hose connects. If it doesn't drop out, there is a clog there. Use the handle of a wooden spoon, or similar long, blunt object to push the clog back through toward the brush.
check for clogs and that the belt is properly on the brushroller. I suggest taking it to a local vacuum shop to get inspected for problems that you cant figure out
You might try sucking the sose out with another vacum from the wrong way. You might be able to remove the hose and push a broom handle or stiff wire through. If you have compressed air available, you could try that, outside.
Im sure you have a clog and if you remove it, you will be back in business.
