First change the needle, if that fails you may need to retime the machine, if you are sewing on static fabric such as silk or jersey make sure you use the correct needle.

There is a lever for positioning the needle bar. When you move the lever to the left middle or right , the needle bar too should follow the same. Try to do that. If it doesn't follow the lever and stays at one end, that means the machine needs to be oiled. Not like most sewing machines Supernova swings the bottom rod too to left and right when Zig Zag is engaged. I recommend to spray some WD 40 first, to inside of top and bottom side of the machine , and later to apply machine oil to every moving joints.
Try installing a brand new needle. Perhaps the needle is bent or damaged so it is not able to catch the bobbin thread. Also be sure the needle is installed with the flat side facing the correct direction.
If it is still not catching the zig-zag stitch, you may need to take it for service.
Do you have it on zig zag or maybe it is in one of the hem stitches. Make sure you have not selected a special stitch. Sometimes with a small width setting it looks like no zig zag, then when you increase the length you see it is not.
put in a new needle rethread the machine top & bobbin--use every thread guide make sure the zig zag settings are correct it's also possible that the machine could have a worn or damaged gear or cam--which would have to be checked at a sewing machine shop
If your stitches do not look good on the top side you have a problem with the bottom thread. make sure you have the correct bottom tension: Is the thread under the bobbin tension plate and when you hold the bobbin and case lightly in your hand the tension should be set in a way that there is little resistance , yet still some, when you pull the thread. After you set your bobbin tension, you may have to adjust your top tension to balance. Also make sure the thread comes off of your bobbin the way your manual tells you, clock or counter clock wise.
Make sure your bobbin (plastic) is not sooooo old, buy a new one.
i believe your machine is skipping the stitch on the RIGHT side as you sew and this is normally a timing problem. Lower your needle about 1/16 inch and try it . It might work to finish your project but it will need to be serviced to have the timing corrected. sewman7
Because it is almost a straight stitch but the needle continues to move in a zig zag fashion is reason to believe it is in a long stitch. By changing the number of stitches per inch there will be a very noticeable looking zig zag stitch.
