Whirlpool Electric range model RF386

The digital display shows these numbers EU - F5. The oven will go on briefly and then beep and turn off. Please help.
Thank you.

Weirdest thing, just trying different things and the code changed to E1 and then the oven stayed on, heated and the error message went away. I think my oven is possessed.

    Thank you very much.

    Happy New Year!

Hello,

I had the f5 code displaying on my range also. When I read your comment that power surges can do strange things, I just tried unplugging the range then plugging back in and it cleared the code.

Thank you Tory

Whirlpool oven question...FSEO on display after about 5 mins of oven operation..beeps continuously, oven shuts off...dinner ruined!

If you receive error codes F5-E0, F5-E1 or F5-E2, the door and latch switch need checking and possible replacement.

The door switch is #12 in the diagram (click image for zoom)...

My wife was beginning an auto cleaning of our whirlpool range oven [model RF387LXG]. When changing the automatic cleaning time from the 3 hr 30 minute default time to 2 hr 30 minutes, the display began...

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

Whirlpool Gold Electric Oven F5 E1 code on bar code

For some reason I get the same error code every time we have a power outage. If you push and hold the "lower off" button for about ten or 15 seconds it will unlock and reset. Hope this helps.

Whirlpool Gold electric range.

Hello delmonico
Welcome to Fixya,

You said, when turning on the self clean option, after 1 minute, I get E 1 F5 on the display panel. What do I do?

Try this .
Turning off the power to the range at the breaker for 5 minutes and see if this will reset the system.

Display shows messages

Is the display showing a letter followed by a number?
Depending on your model, press OFF/CANCEL or CANCEL/
OFF to clear the display. See “Control Display” in the
“Electronic Oven Controls” section. If it reappears, call for
service.

Let me know how it goes.

Thank You,Huuum

Kenmore glass top

Your range was actually built by Whirlpool. the first 3 digits of the serial number determine who it was manufactured by.
It's possible that a battery somewhere is running low. This battery would be for the clock and timer.
See if you can find the service sticker and find the model nnumber - it would most likely be a couple of letters and some numbers. If you're from the US, you may be able to find a manual here: http://shared.whirlpoolcorp.com/product_literature/search.jsp
If you're from the UK, it'll be here:
http://www.whirlpool.co.uk/app.cnt/whr/en_GB/pageid/pgsrvifuhome001

Please let me know how you get on.
Good luck!

Whirlpool oven

When I had a similar problem, the door wouldn't unlock even after unplugging, waiting 30 minutes, and plugging the oven back in. I finally had to manually unlock the oven by turning the lock latch motor myself.

Here's a good page that describes what the lock latch motor looks like and where it's located. Of course, there is 220V current running around inside there, so please unplug before removing the back access cover and put it back on before plugging the oven back in.

My symptoms:
  • Oven failed to complete auto-clean cycle.
  • Oven started beeping; control panel showed FSE 1
  • About a minute after plugging in, oven started beeping and displaying FSE 1 again
Once I unlocked the door manually and plugged back in, the oven started behaving normally.
