SOURCE: PENTAX OPTIO A30 BROKEN LCD
I've seen LCDs forA30 are sold via eBay.
In youtube there's a video of replacing the LCD in other Optio model.
I have the problem and I'm going to try it by myself. I'll let you know if it worked.

I bought my parts from Pentax Imaging Co. for 59.73 + tax + shipping: Part Number 76650-0500 Tel 1 800 877 0155. I am willing to sell this lcd for 55+ ~ ($7 shipping in USA only) because I now have other problems with the camera. LCD is like new condition. (contact: [email protected])
I pulled on the power wires to disconnect the LCD power supply and broke the black one at the connector. I was able to pull the old wire out of the connector and press the remaining section of wire into the connector securely and fix the mistake (use tweasers to prevent this).
As for the LCD information connector strip: Take all of the tape covering this connector off before proceeding because then you will be able to see and use the connector "gate". the gate pivots upward to allows you to place the connector strip in place then you can gently push the gate down to lock the connector strip in place. I tried sliding the connector in and it did not work. Instead it gave me a red screen. I did install my LCD, turned the camera on and it worked, Then...
After dissasembling the camera more that nessesary to be able to insert the menu board's connector strip back into place the camera failed to turn on. I have not found and dissconnected wires and suspect Electrical Shock Discharge for the failure.
If you try this procedure wear a grounding ******** your wrist, or take off the minimum nessessary to preform the work( backplate, sideplate near lense only). You do not need to remove the menu display panel to connect the lcd panel information strip, just remove the tape covering the connector.

even though you buy it in ebay, never open up the digital camera by yourself. take it to the nearest service centre to get it done. i am saying this since the parts inside are highly sensitive and pre calibrated.thanks for using fixya!. please dont forget to rate my solution.
