Diswasher stopped working

Our Kitchenaid dishwasher is only 2 years old and has worked fine since install. Christmas day we did a load of dishes, that same afternoon we loaded it again, but when we pushed on the "normal" cycle, the light did not come on. We pushed start, and nothing happened, and tryed the reset button.
Still nothing works. We checked power to the unit, and it has power up to the control panel.
Can you please help?
thanks

I've got the same problem on a unit that is a couple of years older. I noticed there is a "crack" in the plastic covering over the top of the "start" button on the control panel. I'm guessing that water may have penetrated the control electronics in the door and shorted it out.

can someone tell me where the fuse is on the kitchenaid dishwaser

  • 1234jjbig Apr 17, 2009

Hi Can you talk me through the fuse replacement?

  • Anonymous Mar 17, 2014

I can "reset" the dishwasher by turning it "off" at control panel and then turn "on" while depressing "start" and it will usually work - sometimes for the one load, sometimes for several loads before having to be "reset" again. Sometimes I can change panel settings if I experiment enough with various combinations of holding buttons while turning the power on/off. So my question is, "Do I need a new control panel or do I need a new circuit board/timer, or both?"

Hi,
The buzzing sound would be the motor trying to start and it not being able to turn...
either something is stuck in the pump and holding it from not starting or the motor its self has gone bad and will not start.

Brand New Bosch Stopped Working On First Use

No question that it is a warranty problem, you shouldn't consider doing anything on the machine yourself at this point.
After the warranty is dead and it fails, c'mon back and you will likely find someone to help. It is good though, that we are forewarned about Bosch-

Diswasher stopped working

There is a thermal fuse on the controller that commonly goes out. If you take apart the panel, and see the computer part, there is usually a part clipped on the side with 2 wires on it. When that goes out, it acts like there is no power to the unit. Very easy and in-exspensive to replace if that's it. It's pretty common on those. Good luck

Dishwasher problems

No water heater problem. Make sure you are using rinse aid formula and back off the soap to 1/2 of what you were using.
