Compaq Presario C700 sled off bed. Getting error

To be exact there are six models of Compaq C700 laptop. to identify the model, turn you laptop upside down and read the details on the sticker.

1. Select your OS 2. Scroll down, drivers are displayed alphabetically

Your hard drive is crashing. You need to swap it out with a new one and reinstall the operating system.

Install windows xp with windows xp CD from you CD-Rom derectly,it will be a note to inform you divide you disk of you compaq presario c700.

you need to run your sys repair disk...if it didnt come with one you should have burned your self a copy from the hard drive....If you didnt no worrys look for it on line as maybe a torrent .

Greetings my friend, please try to format first your hard disk before installing Windows XP to prevent error causing by the vista operating system setup settings.

have u left a disk in the machine if so take it out

Hmm did you plug in the cables to the HD right or set it to Slave instead of Master drive ( it's on the back of the HD next to where you plug in all the cables, has a little switch and says "Master" or "Slave" switch to Master )?

beware ...I believe that with this solution internal mic will not work ...but ..is about all that is ..cause on the official site they do not provide an audio solution for xp....

If you're sure about your issue, you can get one hard drive on the internet and replace it.

To install audio / modem drivers, first download and install Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) Bus Driver for High Definition Audio (sp32646):

Conexant CX20549-12 Audio Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (sp36090.exe) (UAA Driver needed)

This will create a swsetup folder in C drive ("C:\sp36090")

Installing this driver may result in an error. But continue with the following steps to get the audio driver installed correctly.

1. Click on Start and select Run. Now type devmgmt.msc and press enter.

2. Right click on "Audio device on High Definition Audio Bus" and click Update driver.

3. Select "Install from a list or specific location"

4. Click Next. Then select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install"

5. Click Next and then select "Sound, video and game controller" from the list.

6. Click Next and then click Have Disk.

7. Click Browse C:\sp36090 folder and select the .inf file (CpV30D5a) and click open and Continue with the onscreen instructions.

Conexant CX20548 Modem Driver for Microsoft Windows XP (sp36089.exe) (UAA Driver needed)

Download and install Conexant modem driver (sp36089). This will give error message and also will create a folder C:\swsetup\sp36089 which contains extracted driver files.

The same method which is used for installing audio driver needs to be followed for modem.
